Glory

Glory is like a circle in the water,
Which never ceaseth to enlarge itself,
Till by broad spreading it disperse to naught.
—William Shakespeare

As the vine is the glory of the trees it clasps, as the grapes of the vine, as the bull of the herd, as the standing corn of the fruitful field, thou and thou alone art the glory of those who love thee.
—Virgil

Glories, like glow-worms, afar off shine bright,
But look’d too near have neither heat nor light.
—John Webster
