Nocturne

Glenn Ward Dresbach

CLOUDS, piled up like the dunes

In a world that cried for rain,

Shifted by winds that shifted

The dunes themselves in the night,

Came from the night and drifted

Into the night again!

Dreams, restless as the dunes

Where things that were remain—

Buried while the winds shifted

Or brought once more to sight—

Wandered from you and drifted

Back to you again.
