The Singing Sands

Lucy Eddy

From “Valley and Mesa”

OVER the graying desert

Broods the sky.

Clouds drift—sands shift—

Night winds sigh.

Through the hush and stillness

Silver shadows fly.

In the sand a foot-fall

Sings and passes by.
