In New Mexico

Glenn Ward Dresbach

THERE is a hut far up the path.

Its door has fallen, and the sun

Looks in by day, and many stars

Look in when day is done.

There is an idle mining claim—

Dug into rock, a fling at Chance!

But, God, for what you don’t find here

Look on his grave in France!
