Tonight

Marion Strobel

From “Song Sketches”

A FLAME

Leaps high

In a wind:

I am the same.

I go

My head

High. I flame

Red—blue. Oh,

Tonight

The sky

Will be a

Cry of light—

Fire!

Come swift

As wind—come,

Lift me higher!
