CHRYSANTHEMUMS and late roses
And the plane-leaf’s fall—
All that is left us now.
Hoarsely the flower-girls cry,
Pale shake the street-lamp lights;        5
Chilled gusts come puffing by,
Sigh the poor year away.
All that is left us now
Regrets without perfume; dead thoughts;
Chrysanthemums, and late roses.        10
