(kô´dr) (KEY) , village, Highland, NE Scotland, SW of Nairn. Cawdor Castle, the earliest remaining piece dating from 1454, was represented by Shakespeare, following tradition, as the scene of the slaying (1040) of Duncan by Macbeth.
