Mena, Juan de
(hwän d m´nä) (KEY) , 141156, Spanish poet and scholar. Influenced by the Italian school, he modeled his chief work Laberinto de Fortuna (1444) upon Dante. This 300-stanza allegorical poem was the major Spanish harbinger of the Renaissance. His Coronación, a didactic allegory, is more conventionally medieval.
