(sl´nä) (KEY) , city (1995 pop. 54,160), Stockholm co., E Sweden, an industrial suburb of Stockholm. Manufactures include machinery, electrical goods, paper, and chocolate. It is the seat of the Swedish motion-picture industry and has numerous scientific institutes, including the Nobel Institute. There are also large hospitals; the War Academy (housed since 1792 in Karlsberg Castle, one of Solna’s several castles); and the Rasunda sports stadium, where international soccer matches are played.
