Walker, Horatio
18581938, Canadian painter, b. Ontario, largely self-taught. Though he lived in Rochester and New York City, he painted chiefly scenes from the simple life of the inhabitants of the Île dOrléans in the St. Lawrence. His work has been compared to that of the painter J. F. Millet. Examples of his art are The Woodcutter and Milking (City Art Mus. of St. Louis).
