2 Operations management is defined as the development and execution of business strategies that maximize the processing of information and productivity. It is the role of the operations manager to examine the materials, equipment, and workforce and make the determination on how to best work to deliver that specific company's goods or services to the customer (The University of Arizona Global Campus, 2023) . Operations services and operations management are usually put very close together within the operations umbrella in an organization, due to the number of similarities they have, but they also have differences as to why they are not in the same grouping. We will focus on comparing the two when it comes to customer involvement, production and consumption, supplier relation to the supply chain, and the delivery of products and services. Customer Involvement The needs of the customer will impact the content of the services offered, other than that, the customer has very little to do with the manufacturing aspect of the operation (Zhou, Park, and Yi, pg 139, 2009). The customer is being directly provided with the good or service that was manufactured, so they, in turn, deal more with the operation service, than the operation manufacturing. With this product being provided directly to the customer, the customer now has the power to rate and explain why or how they would recommend or not recommend the product to others who may be interested in purchasing the good or service. Production and Consumption When looking at production and consumption at the operation manufacturing level, we see that consumption and production happen at different stages, the need for inventory between
