Assignment #2 Chapter Review 10
RESTATE THE PROBLEM
Calculate chronic daily intake or other variables given the media and values
for remaining variables.
DEFINE ASSUMPTIONS, UNITS, AMOUNTS
Since we are writing equations, we are not using any specific numbers, just variables, so there
are no amounts. The units the equations produce are grams/kilograms, years, mg/L, L/Day etc.
DRAW PROBLEM, SCALE, CONTROL VOLUME
SOLUTION TECHNIQUE/PLUG IN AND SOLVE
At 7.2 mg/L contamination estimate and a daily water intake of about 2L/day. For 25
years (i.e. 25x365.25 = 9131.25 days) the total intake of water = 18262.5 L, which
contains 131.490 g of barium.
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS/DISCLAMIER
I acknowledge that my limitations are that my Chemistry 1 and 2 knowledge need to be
refreshed. I am entirely relying on the text in order to write and solve chloric equations.

In Jamestown, NY, a coal power plan consumes coal at a rate of 80 tons/hr. When coal burns, it generates approximately 30,000 kJ for every kg of coal burned. The cooling course for the plant is the nearby Chadakoin River nearby and, by code, the power plant cannot reject more than 13.19 x 109 MJ into the river annually. Determine the maximum average power output of this plant and it's maximum thermal efficiency. To check your work, enter the efficiency, as a decimal, in the box provided.

As we explained in earlier chapters, the
air resistance to the motion of a vehicle
is something important that engineers
investigate. The drag force acting on a
car is determined experimentally by
placing the car in a wind tunnel. The air
speed inside the tunnel is changed, and
the drag force acting on the car is
measured. For a given car, the experimental
data generally is represented by a
single coefficient that is called drag
coefficient. It is defined by the following
relationship:
F,
where
air resistance for a car that has a listed
C, = drag coefficient (unitless)
measured drag force (N)
drag coefficient of 0.4 and width of 190 cm
and height of 145 cm. Vary the air speed
in the range of 15 m/s

follwoing way:
• Please include a kinamatic diagram (one for
velocity and one for acceleration).
• Please DO NOT solve this using velocity
analysis (cartesian vector analysis). I would
like it to be solved using scalar method. We
dont use 3D in this course. We only use scalar
analysis for the relative velocity equation
(writing the x and y components of the
equation and solving the equations for the
unknowns). I have attached a sample question
with solution in order to get an idea on how to
use the scalar method to solve my question. I
would like question 16-109 to be solved in a

In Jamestown, NY, a coal power plan consumes coal at a rate of 80 tons/hr. When coal burns, it generates approximately 30,000 kJ for every kg of coal burned. The cooling course for the plant is the nearby Chadakoin River nearby and, by code, the power plant cannot reject more than 13.19 x 109 MJ into the river annually. Determine the maximum average power output of this plant and it's maximum thermal efficiency. To check your work, enter the efficiency, as a decimal, in the box provided.arrow_forwardPlease refer to the attached picturs of the problem statement.
