Robenson Joseph Date:02/13/2024 Class: REL 130 Online Week 06 Lesson Plan Template Personal Experiences 1. Identify times when you have been touched by the Spirit through the scriptures. Remember what you learned, or why you feel the Spirit was speaking to you through the scriptures. Identify ways to invite the Spirit into your teaching through scripture. You may also interview others to help you identify the answers to these questions. Before I became a Mormon, I was deeply part of another religion. I don’t have to mention which one it is, but they believe in God, but they don’t have the full knowledge of the restored gospel like we do. I remembered discussing with the Elders about my religion at the time and their Mormon faith. After the elders presented me with the “Gospel of Jesus” lesson and asked me to read on 2 Nephi 2:6–8 which talk about the salvation through Christ. Then, they asked to go pray about it and asked for confirmation. Still to this day, I remember how I was touched by the Holy Spirit. After reading it on my own, they confirmation came why the way, and I feel warm from the inside and I had the desire to know more about the Book of Mormon and that how I became a member and served a mission two years later. 2. Identify a personal, meaningful experience where you have gained a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My personal experience is how I become to know the gospel of Jesus Christ is our Heavenly Father's plan for the happiness and salvation of His children on earth. Just two weeks ago, my cousin Darlene came to visit us from our land country. In my family evening night that week, I have a chance to teach her about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. The way the Holy Spirit prepared her to receive the message and her willingness to learn gave more confidence to open my month and spread the gospel even more to others. Meaningful Scriptures 3. Identify a personal, meaningful scripture that has helped you gain a testimony of the value of studying the scriptures. 1 Nephi 7:12 and 2 Nephi 9:23 from the Book of Mormon. These scriptures are meaningful to me because they have helped comprehend the power of personal scriptures study. These scriptures make me understand my faith, the power, and the salvation of the Savior Jesus Christ.
4. Identify a personal, meaningful scripture that has helped you gain a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 3 Nephi 11; 27 have helped me to know the doctrine of the restored gospel of Christ which help me gain or grow my testimony in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Lesson Plan: 1. In the area below, create a 3-5 minute lesson plan about ONE of the following topics. a. The Gospel of Jesus Christ (PMG, pp. 60–70). b. 2. While in the mission field your lessons will need to be taught as directed by the Spirit, for this assignment you’ll need to write out your lesson plan word for word. You should do this as if you were putting the lesson plan together but you wouldn’t be there to deliver it. Your lesson plan should include: a. A simple explanation of the doctrine being taught. Doctrine and explanation regarding “The Gospel of Jesus Christ” is that according to the Book of Mormon, the gospel of Jesus Christ includes five key points: (1) faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; (2) repentance through the Atonement of Christ; (3) baptism by immersion in Christ’s name; (4) the gift of the Holy Ghost; and (5) enduring to the end. Since I can’t teach all the five key points in one sitting or lesson, so I will be focus on the first two points which are: have faith in the Lord, and repentance. I plan to start and finish the lesson with a prayer. After that I plan to introduce the subject or tropic, I want share with them which would be “The Gospel of Jesus Christ.” I plan to explain to them that having faith in Christ includes having a firm belief that He is the Only Begotten Son of God and the Savior and Redeemer of the world. Repentance through the Atonement of Jesus Christ is another important principle of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our faith in Christ and our love for Him lead us to repent, or to change our thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors that are not in harmony with His will. b. A scripture with an explanation of how it ties to the doctrine. Acts 4: 12 and it is to believe there is no “salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. The explanation to me is recognize that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father only by relying on His Son’s grace and mercy. When we have faith in Christ, we accept and apply His Atonement and His teachings. We trust Him and what He says. 2 Nephi 31:19 explain about faith in Christ leads to action. Alma 34 talk about how faith leads unto repentance and becoming a new person in the Lord. c. An experience with an explanation of how it ties to the doctrine. Before I became a Mormon, I was deeply part of another religion. I don’t have to mention which one it is, but they believe in God, but they don’t have the full knowledge of the restored gospel
