Every second of my life has already been predestined by myself. I have made a plan for myself and I don't plan on straying from that plan any time soon. Part of my plan is to finish high school and get my diploma. Every year I have been taking initiative and running for class president. I’ve applied for IB English, IB Spanish, Honors Math III, Honors Chem, AP History, Nursing and Jrotc.
I want to be a heart surgeon and I will do whatever it takes to reach my goal. I plan on taking chemistry, biology and anatomy classes at the academy. I have wanted to be many things in life, a judge, a lawyer, an obgyn and even a pediatric surgeon, but I always knew that the military was for me. I have endless dedication and ambition. Throughout the summer I worked to get in top physical condition. Everything I do I do it with passion. I try my best to be a good role model but it's not always easy. Back in 2015 my family was evicted from our home of 10 years. My parents went through a messy divorce and my mother was unable to keep our home due to foreclosure. My family had nowhere to go, we have no family in Brockton besides my father. We tried living at my father’s apartment for a while but that didn't work out so our only option was to move to Springfield and live with my mother’s cousin. Living in Springfield was sort of difficult because it was a new environment for me and I didn't know anyone. I had to take care of my brother and sister. I have achieved so much in my 16 years of life and being accepted into the academy will be very well
I would like to go into the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner career field. Pediatric Nurse Practitioners help Pediatricians and other Physicians diagnose and take care of children from infancy to young adults. I have grown up with ten siblings and many more cousins, so I have learned how to deal with children of all ages. Also, I have been interested in the medical field since I was a little girl and I have always loved to help people. I would have liked to be a Pediatrician but I would prefere not be in school for another thirteen years, so I found that the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner was the perfect career for me.
While writing about oneself might be one of the hardest things for some of us to do, I'm sure that figuring out the personality of the person behind the words might be equally as hard. So I'll try to make this as simple yet as comprehensive as possible. I was born in Austria to Somali parents and grew up in Saudi Arabia, went to med school in Sudan and am finally here to practice medicine in Canada. So as you might see, the common question 'Where are you from?' takes a little longer for me to answer as do other Somali refugees around the world and am glad to finally find a place I can truly call home.

“I began the study of medicine, impelled by a desire for knowledge of facts and of man. When I first decided to become a Pediatric Anesthesiologist, I was in my junior year of high school and I was simply browsing the world wide web for a good paying job that was also helping others that are in need. Two years later and taking the college course Strategies for Success in College, I have realized that money alone cannot sustain an individual in reaching their ‘dream goal’. I needed something
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” As a child, we have all been asked this question; and as unrealistic children, we all had dreams of being a superhero, princess, cowboy, or astronaut. Later on in life, as time went by, and as we became more knowledgeable, our answers became more serious. Some of us wanted to be teachers, business owners, or a veterinarian. However, I have always wanted to be a doctor, but not just any doctor. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a pediatrician. It is a consent battle whether to pay for things your family needs or to pay for another set of classes to take. I have recently been accepted into the CTC Nursing program. This means I am only two years from graduating with my degree in nursing. I am undeniable motivated to finish what I started not only for my family, but to prove to myself that anything is possible.

After high school I plan to attend college and major in biology or environmental science. I’m undecided on whether I want to go on to become a doctor or a physician assistant. However, I intend to use my career as either a doctor or a physician assistant to serve underdeveloped areas both nationally and internationally. I’d also like to get involved with organizations that involve promoting health and education.
