For nearly 138 years, Brenau University has continued to uphold its slogan Extraordinary Lives. When I first stepped foot on Brenau’s campus in 2012, I wouldn’t have fathomed that four years later, this institution would shape me into the successful woman I am today. Prior to attending Brenau, I had always struggled with understanding who I was and where I belonged. Once I became a student at Brenau, I began to join organizations such as Student Activities Board and Student Government Association, and consequently, I have reached a social and academic success peak I never believed I would be able to achieve. If you are a first year college student or are transferring to a different institution, I advise you to take Brenau University into consideration.

With manufacturing moving overseas, we should realize that with it moves the dyed chemical water. Countries such as Bangladesh dump their wastewater in ditches that can be see when driving to textile mills and manufacturing plants (Cline, 2012, pg. 123). With environmental forces such as global warming, we are overlooking the waste the fashion world is creating. Cellulosic fibers seem to be environmentally friendly because they come from cotton, flax, and bamboo. Even though these fibers start off
In the article Anatoli Boukreev (Responds to krakauer), Anatoli Boukreev opposes the topic of defending himself for the misunderstandings John Krakauer had mentioned about his decisions and actions on Mount Everest. He states that Krakauer lacked closeness of what really did happen during the events of summit day. Boukreev has had twenty years of “high altitude climbing experience” (Boukreev 1), he has gone up Mount Everest three times in his career of climbing but in total he has climbed twelve high altitude mountains. According to Boukreev, “I have summited seven of the world’s fourteen mountains over 8,000 meters of elevation, all of those without the use of supplementary oxygen” (1). Based on his experience of climbing, he was concerned

Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) is a good example of institution theory working at its best as it uses a strong mission and vision statement for adaptation in growing markets. A solid mission statement is a vital part of any company as it states the purpose or reason for the organization’s existence, which in turn, establishes the parameters for the company’s strategic plan. Moreover, it tells society what the company is providing: service or product. As the textbook points out, “a well-conceived mission statement defines the fundamental, unique purpose that sets a company apart from other firms of its type and identifies the scope or domain of the company’s operations in terms of products/services offered and markets served” (Wheelen, et al 13). Mission statements throughout an industry can vary greatly, and the alcoholic beverage industry is no exception. Anheuser-Busch strives to “Be the best beer company in a better world; and to “Deliver superior returns to our shareholders” (Anheuser-Busch). This mission statement clearly defines who they are, “The best beer company”, and it also identifies the scope of the company’s operations, as they would like to deliver superior returns to their shareholders. Having a narrow business statement, which very

It's almost two months since the clash broke out between government troops and the Maute Group, which has pledge alliance to the dreaded Middle Eastern terror group Islamic State (ISIS). Two days before the fasting month of Ramadan started, loud explosions and gunshots jolted the residents of Marawi City in Lanao del Sur on Tuesday, May 23. Almost 200,000 residents of Marawi were forced to escape from the city while hundreds were unfourtunately caught in the crossfire. Flooded with queries on how to send help and assistance to displaced residents of the war-torn city, here are the list of government agencies and other offices that accept donations in-cash and in-kind.
