Why I Want To Be An Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity

I’ve taken the lessons I’ve learned whether they were explicitly from Xavier and Delvin or from simply observing an Alpha Man with me when I joined my first organization Generation of Educated Men (GEM) a community service based organization where I currently serve as Mr. GEM. No matter how long ago I learned those lessons they still resonate with me just as strong if not stronger, this is shown through my most recent accomplishment of becoming a member of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity. I am thankful for the guidance that I have received from the Men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated both intentional and unintentional, and if I am perchance selected to start the process of becoming a Man of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated I will continue to remember where I have come from and remember how two men helped me change my life and in turn helping me to make it this far, and how one day I would like to be the Xavier Robinson and Delvin Woodard who helped change the life of a young Tarvaris

I am Corey Dante Jones, and I am seeking to become an active member of your fraternity. I am 29 years old, a husband, a father of four (Two boys, Two girls) and was born and raised in Mobile, Al. Graduated from McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham and majored in Criminal Justice. I have also served in the United States Army for the past 8years as an 11Bravo (Infantry Man) and 88November (Transportation coordinator). I am now working as a civilian contractor with the military as an Aerostat Operator, and I am also a Professional MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fighter.

As I sought out to become a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. I saw that the organization matches my personality and what I stand for. My true passion is to make a difference in this world, I desire to make a significant impact on the lives of the youths to inspire them to reach their full potential. I know that Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity was established to accomplish the same things that I do, this is one of the many reasons I aspire to join this great fraternity.

I believe that I would be a perfect fit for National Honor Society. Each and every day I exemplify the four National Honor Society pillars, Character, Service, Scholarship, and Leadership. At the very end of eighth grade our graduating class and teachers had an anonymous vote to pick two people with the best character in the class. I won the award which was called the Marty Lebaron award, donated in the name of a young man who passed away from cancer, but his character was so great it can never be forgotten. I have four younger sisters, very often I am helping them with homework, making sure they are fed, and get to sleep on time. I also babysit my neighbors very small children, their parents trust me to keep their children safe, make dinner, and make sure they get to bed. Every two weeks I would go over and mow my grandparents lawn and clean up their lawn. During the winter I would shovel and make sure the garbage cans make it to the curb on time. This summer when they decided to move to Florida, my dad and I helped them move all of their furniture out of their house and onto the rental truck.

Thank you for this National Honor Society opportunity. I feel extremely privileged. And, I think my qualifications include strong work ethic, drive, a high standard of academic integrity, and a calling to service and leadership in my community.

The National Honor Society recognizes students who attain a high level of accomplishment in the areas of academics, character, leadership, and service. In order to be considered for membership in the National Honor Society one must not only demonstrate each of these four qualities, but excel in each.

The Beta Sigma Arts & Crafts show is a great, close to home event that is there for the people to discover unique, one of a kind creations made from different people from different vendors. This event took place on Saturday, September 10th from 9:00 AM- 6:00 PM and on Sunday, September 11th from 10:00 AM- 4:00 PM.IMG_3516[1].JPG

Being eligible to become a member of the National Honor Society is a great honor. Becoming a member will open opportunities for me to grow as a person and help me reach my future career goals. I believe that I will be able to contribute to our NHS program in the additional three pillars of service, leadership, and character.

I am greatly honored of having the opportunity of applying to the National Honor Society. To most students, National Honor Society is just an extra tassel on graduation day, but to me, I see it as an introduction to our future. I have been looking forward to joining this prestigious organization since the beginning of freshman year. Throughout this past two scholastic years, I have admired the hard work that the students have done to help the community, and I believe that I can play a part in their hard work in this upcoming year.

I, Jacob Revak, both as a student and a citizen, believe that I exemplify the four pillars of National Honor Society: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Every day I strive to be the best person I can be. In doing so, I maintain a high grade point average, serve as a leader for my peers and teammates, aide those who are in need, and act as a role model to those around me through my character. I maintain all of this in hope of guiding others to success. It is in these ways that I believe I exhibit the four pillars of the National Honor Society, throughout my life.

My partner and I grew up around many sororities, but Alpha Kappa Alpha Inc. has always caught our eye. When our teacher explained our topic that could be an interest to us, my partner and I decided on Alpha Kappa Alpha Inc. The sorority A.K.A means a significance in our community. It was the first African American women's sorority dedicated to serve the people and others in need. We knew that we would dedicate our time in making the project a success.

Being in a sorority is very rewarding yet can be very time consuming. Each member that is part of a sorority has a huge role to play even if you do not hold a position within the organization. Alpha Sigma Alpha is a national sorority who is heavily involved with community service and their three national philanthropies, St. June Smith, Special Olympics, and Girls on the Run, as well as local philanthropy year after year. I am seeking membership into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated because I want to grow and become an exceptional black woman. I want to be a part of a sisterhood where I can be able to express myself, and see the greatness in ourselves reflected in each other. The Gamma Theta chapter of Alpha Kappa Sorority Incorporated goals and ladies embody everything that I want to be in my life. Throughout my freshman and sophomore year I observe and attended many events. I thoroughly enjoyed them, and I respect how active Gamma Theta is on campus. Most of the women that I know that are members of Alpha Kappa Alpha are hardworking and dedicated. I can relate to these ladies because nothing

"The House Bunny" is a comedy about a Playboy Bunny, Shelley, who thinks she is kicked out of the mansion and has to find a new place to live. Shelley ends up on the doorstep of the "ZETA" house, where she meets a group of sorority women who can't get any pledges because they aren't popular enough.

As a sophomore, I am honored to be among the few students that have been granted the opportunity to be involved in the National Honor Society. I have many core values, that I feel qualify me as a leader in regards to my service to others and academic success.
