I believe the purpose of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is to grow and develop women scholastically and to help women reach their goals. This organization is noted for its extensive service, reaching beyond college campuses. The purpose is also to stay dedicated and committed to academic excellence. Women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., not only give back to their community but are also leaders, uniting women to have a positive impact on others. Joining a sisterhood such as Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is a lifelong commitment. Since Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. starts in the collegiate years, the skills you learn can help later on in life. It is also preparation for working with people with different personal and professional backgrounds. Also, to be aware of what is going on around you and how you can make an impact. Young women looking for mentorship can have a positive
Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Incorporated purpose is to be of service to all mankind dealing with critical issues in communities domestically and internationally. What I have grown to understand an envision a woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated to be, I accredit largely to the ladies of the Gamma Theta chapter. This has the result of attending many of the chapter’s events during my time at Hampton thus far. One of my favorite events was a screening of a documentary Girls Rising. I learned to appreciate every opportunity to learn and gain knowledge because in some parts of the world girls are restricted from receiving an education. A
I am honored to be among the commendable students whom are being considered to be a part of such a prestigious organization, The National Honor Society. I have been wanting to be a part of this organization the second I stepped into this school. Of course I have worked vigorously for it, there has not been one year here at Lone Star where I have not been in less than 3 Pre-AP or AP classes with averages frequently resulting in an A. I work hard everyday and night in order to ensure my success now and in the future. National Honor Society is an exceptional group brimmed with bright young men and women who create the world of tomorrow. I, Jadzia Sanchez, Class of 2017, yearn to be a part of such a group. I have been a part of theatre in both middle school and high school, I am a very active thespian and have branched out by joining acting classes outside of school.
On behalf of Beaufort Middle School, myself, Dr. Tomon and The Faculty Council we congratulate you and your student on being selected for membership to the Beaufort Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. The NJHS is a program that celebrates the success of many of our hardest working students, based upon academic achievement as well as the demonstration of outstanding character, service, leadership, and citizenship. These criteria for selection form the foundation upon which the organization and its activities are built. Members of NJHS take pride in their accomplishments and work diligently toward the goal of attaining a superior education and contributing to their school and community. They do their best to provide positive role models for their peers.
The Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity provided a voice and a dream for African Americans around the world. For people who were colored at the time this fraternity was created, had to struggle in their everyday life because racism was such a huge focus. Alpha Phi Alpha was founded at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York by seven outstanding African American men who attended college there. They created a strong bond and brotherhood in the organization and were an inspiration to colored people all over the nation. The seven founders were known as “Jewels” at the fraternity. These seven men were Henry Arthur Callis, Charles Henry Chapman, Eugene Kinckle Jones, George Biddle Kelley, Nathaniel Allison Murray, Robert Harold Ogle, and Vertner Woodson Tandy. They were all very intelligent and brave men, a lot of people looked up to them. The fraternity was created and based on colored people who were racially prejudiced socially and educationally. There was one man who caught my eye and found very
During this school year, I have dedicated myself and my time to ensuring the success of the State High National Honor Society's first year by serving as club treasurer; I now hope to continue my efforts as president in my senior year. Because State High did not have an NHS chapter until the spring of last year, there existed no precedent for how the club should be run. The four other officers and I began meeting in August to make decisions regarding service projects, monthly meetings, finances, general logistics, and more. We planned the induction ceremony, including from the speeches we would deliver to the food we would serve. At the beginning of the year, I established a journal of transactions/budget for the NHS based on formal accounting
“This is what Phi Theta Kappa is all about, the community of scholars,” said Straus at the gathering, “The mission of Phi Theta Kappa is to promote enthusiasm in scholarship, leadership and character.”
This position will act to provide administrative support with contract preparation, fiscal responsibilities, and oversee the health educator’s specialist.
National Junior Honor Society is an extraordinary achievement and honor, but many responsibilities come with it. Therefore the five most important qualities necessary for a member of National Junior Honor Society are leadership, service, citizenship, scholarship, and character. These five qualities are very important because they shape who we are. Without qualities we wouldn’t have a personality and personality makes up who a person is and/or who they want to be. Leadership is a major part of National Junior Honor Society because it shows if we can speak up and be our own person, opposed to sitting down and waiting to follow what other people are doing.
I am seeking membership into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated because I want to grow and become an exceptional black woman. I want to be a part of a sisterhood where I can be able to express myself, and see the greatness in ourselves reflected in each other. The Gamma Theta chapter of Alpha Kappa Sorority Incorporated goals and ladies embody everything that I want to be in my life. Throughout my freshman and sophomore year I observe and attended many events. I thoroughly enjoyed them, and I respect how active Gamma Theta is on campus. Most of the women that I know that are members of Alpha Kappa Alpha are hardworking and dedicated. I can relate to these ladies because nothing
National Junior Honor Society is a very prestigious program which I very much would like to be a part of. The core standards or leadership, citizenship, service, scholarship, and character are traits that I am proud to possess. I’ve worked hard to become the person I am now, and hard work is also the reason of how I have acquired the 5 standards of the National Junior Honor Society. Leadership is an important skill to have in life, and obtaining this skill will put you at an advantage to your peers or coworkers. I have been a leader my whole life; this has been shown both in school and in social situations.
I am truly honored to be among the amazing students who have been considered for the National Honor Society. In order to have even been considered to be nominated for the selective organization, I had to maintain a certain grade point advantage. I am ranked top three percent for my graduating class of 2018. Throughout my experience at Brockton High School, I was taught that school isn't all about you grades, but also about how you work with others outside the classroom. Also, I've been taught that the in order to differ yourself from the other 4,000 plus kids at this school, you have to become a leader. I strongly believe that I would be a great candidate for National Honor Society because I'm an amazing student academically and I'm in activities
It is such a privilege to have the opportunity to apply be a part of the National Honors Society. It is one of my high school goals to be in the NHS. I have worked very hard throughout my high school career to get to this point and I will continue to work hard. I believe that I possess all the principles of NHS, scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Education has always been one of my top priorities.
