Chapter two Summary

The Articles of Confederation did not meet the needs of the people.

Different types of government serve different purposes.
There are three types of government and they are all different. When the U.S. first become independent they has to choose which type of government that they thought would fit them and their needs the best. There are many ways that the types of government work.
An example of a type a government is a democracy which is when the people elect their leaders either who will represent them or a government in which the people rule themselves. When the U.S. choose the type of government they wanted, it was a democracy because it let the people have power and the government have power. They did not want a Monarchy because they had just gotten out of one. A Monarchy is another form of government and in that government, the rulers are usually …show more content…

Most of the ideals couldn’t be practiced. This happened because the U.S. did not act as one country which didn’t let the people live the democracy that they wanted. The weaknesses that the Articles of Confederation affected the way the country was being ruled. The weaknesses that caused the Constitution to be written are that the U.S. didn’t have a banking system, couldn’t print money, no elective branch or president, also they had a huge debt from the war and couldn’t collect taxes to pay for it. The ideals that the country had were separation of powers, which is when the people sare their powers with the government, consent of the governed, and others also that had trouble being used in the country at that time. The Articles had many weaknesses that did not help the country and when the country was founded and the Declaration of independence was written the people had and idea of what was wanted in the country, but the Articles did not allow this and it caused problems for
