One of the most well-known studies in psychology is behaviorism. Behaviorism psychology rose up between psychologists during the two world wars. When it was first mentioned, classical behaviorism, it focused on data that could be easily noticed, mental experiences, and usual activities1. Then behaviorism spread out into many other branches like methodological, radical, theoretical, and more2. The basic idea of behaviorism is how an “organism” responds to situation directed by external environment and internal biological process1. Due to its popularity, behaviorism had been a big part of society; it was shown in daily lives, education, and others. Especially in education part, operant conditioning works extremely well with students, regardless of students’ ages; from pre-school to high school. Not exactly but almost the same experiment was done to different ages of students and showed relatively same result3, 4. Also behaviorism was effectively used in advertising in 1920s and it is still noticeable in current advertisements. Overall, behaviorism could not offer many considerable positive results but it is also significant to the development of industry until today by the wide change which behaviorism brought into8. In addition, one of the researches states that behaviorism may not be balanced in mass media environment but the current networked communications have provided much better position to behavioristic advertisements with analyzed message receivers and dragged out desired responses8. The author’s assumption is that students’ behaviors can be determined by teacher’s behaviors; teachers make use of operant conditioning with rewarding system to build up students’ appropriate behaviors3. The experiment done by Becker had three options to change students’ behaviors: 1. Reward appropriate behavior and withdraw rewards if a student does inappropriate behavior. 2. Strengthen the rewards if 1 fails. 3. Punish inappropriate behavior if 1 and 2 fail. Researches and experiments were taken on pre-school kids and kindergarten kids. Throughout the research and experiments, Becker came up with a conclusion saying “Social reinforcers from adults can serve to strengthen behaviors followed by such reinforcement.” It shows that if there is something that reinforces a student to do something will actually make that student to do what is asked to do by teacher or any
