Business Plan Proposal
Introduction
The development of start-ups is an important business activity that requires effort, time, and financial resources. It is important to correctly establish the resources that are required by opening a business in order to be able to successfully reach the objectives established for businesses in each situation. In this case, the business plan refers to developing a restaurant that focuses on providing meals that are based on organic foods.
The benefits of organic foods are well known. There are numerous studies in the field that have identified the benefits that organic foods have on individuals' health. There are also numerous studies that reveal the effects that fast food has on people. Certain governments in different companies develop campaigns intended to increase awareness on such issues, and to modify the eating habits of people in these countries. However, it is difficult to reach this objective when customers have numerous fast food restaurants to choose from. These restaurants provide fast service at smaller prices, and this is what most customers want.
Therefore, it is important that food providers participate in campaigns developed by governments in their attempt to improve eating habits. Restaurants that provide healthy food have a better image on the market in comparison with fast food restaurants. But health food is considered to be more expensive. This refers to higher production costs, increased costs of
In every company, they deal with internal and external factors that affect every day business. External factors include oil price change, new laws and regulations for building codes, food distribution and many more. Companies that wish to succeed in their business should try and anticipate these internal and external factors. By identifying a companies opportunities and threats, a company can protect themselves from future harm and take advantage of opportunities that they have prepared for. Analyzing the opportunities and threats can be crucial for a company to turn a profit, expand the company across the country, and bring in and keep new and old customers.
Michael Pollan (2010) stated in his essay “Food Fight” that, “Cheap food has become and indispensable pillar of the modern economy” (p.513). This is true especially with those that work in the fast food industry because they do not get paid that much. Cheaper food is what they can afford so that is what they buy instead of healthy food. Astyk and Newton (2009) state in their essay “The rich get richer, the poor go hungry” that “Multinational food companies have also worked their way into the food budgets of the poor” (p.517). When consuming fast food, “It turns out there are significant costs-to the environment, to public health, to the public purse…” (Pollan, 2010, p.513). If there were more fast food restaurants that offered healthy food with the same price as fast food there would not be an obesity problem. That would affect the farmers or people selling the crops and food that is healthy. Buying fast food is cheaper, but it will cost you more in the long run with your
Global influences of the fast food industry are shown in the health problems in society today. The cheap production of meat and grains for the fast food industry cause harm to the environment, humans, and animals. The fast food that is consumed is not only bad for the health of people but also for the environment. As food provides more than just sustenance; it increasingly has come to shape and mediate our understanding of ourselves and our culture.
Many fast food chains advertise deals and combos making the consumer feel less guilty because they are getting more bang for their buck. For example, McDonald’s advertises a cheeseburger, fries, and a sixteen-ounce soda for five dollars. On the other hand, an Asian Chicken Wrap at Togo’s is seven dollars and thirty-five cents. This example shows that fast food chains offer more food for a cheaper price compared to a healthier food establishment. Fast food chains have their consumers thinking that more food for a less price is a good deal when, in actuality, they are causing harm to the consumer’s health. In contrast to fast food restaurants, grocery stores that sell fruits and vegetables for a more expensive price, than the fast food, are overlooked because people lean towards cheaper and more convenient foods. When put into perspective, it is more rational to buy something that is a bit more expensive and will ultimately benefit people’s health rather than go for food that is cheap and harmful to one’s
Food is something that every person needs in order to survive. Food is meant to provide nourishment to the body, as the body needs a balance of different types of foods to grow and function properly. Food affects an individual’s health very greatly. However, in today’s society a new foodway, fast food, has emerged. Fast food chains are ever expanding as they provide convenience and cheapness to customers. Fast food alone is not a problem, the issue lies at an excess of too much fast food. This particular foodway has negative effects, as it does not adequately provide the body with all of the nutrients that are needed in order to function properly. Fast food spend huge amounts of money to advertise their products, as they try to draw more people in or simply make the consumer want their product. Fast food uses low prices and assembly line like techniques to
Fast food is synonymous with bad health. Rarely can you find a fast food restaurant that doesn’t include hamburgers and french fries. Fast food corporations are constantly trying to find ways to innovate their approaches to draw in crowds, and most important of all, to rake in the cash. Most decisions in the corporate world are made because of money; For example, the rise in reboots in the movie industry can be attributed to the assumption that reboots of famous movie franchises are guaranteed money makers. Because of this, the fast food industry does not care about the health effects of its consumers. Occasionally, a restaurant will introduce healthier items to the menu in an effort to get health-conscious customers. For example, Domino’s Pizza recently introduced salads to their menu, so people who want pizza and people who want salad can compromise and still end up going to Domino’s. Even this marketing ploy is aimed at receiving an influx of cash. With obesity, heart disease, and cancer on the rise, it may be time to evaluate the fast food industry and wonder whether or not easily accessed, cheap food is worth the health risks.
Food is essential for everyone. While, foods that don't have as many good nutrients compared to fast foods. This concern of fast food has been growing ever since there is a high risk of obesity and diabetes. The main concern is how people in society are now focusing more towards fast foods. There are ideas of fixing society to stray away from bad nutritious foods like foods being produced by fast food companies. Although, fast food is available and accessible everywhere, it causes health issues; therefore we should stray away from fast foods .
The modern day fast food industry has dramatically progressed since it was first brought into the world in 1921, Diffusing from Wichita, Kansas developing many (new) successful companies and franchises that have made over millions of dollars in profit, But ‘whatever goes in must come out’ since the money that is profit goes back into the production of the foods sold to the modern world that are now displayed and advertised daily around the globe leaving people with the urge to get a taste of what “goodness” is like. This ‘delicious’ taste satisfies the average consumer daily with its unique flavor and size for the prize, But not everyone knows where their food comes from, How much distance it travels across the world to get on their plate, Where it is grown, how it is grown and what processes food has to go to in order to receive it’s unique flavor. Daily, Many people believe the “organic” menu is freshly grown in farms and are sent straight to the kitchen of the franchise or company where staff there would create the meal with their own two hands making it “fresh”. I believe that fast food restaurants should have the mandatory use of organic/locally grown products in every meal that is shipped to restaurants and sold to everyday customers. Although fast food can be extremely delightful, It is the leading cause of obesity. Not only are organic products healthier for the human body and reduce obesity but restaurants that go green or organic are more profitable. “While
Have you seen a movie named Fast Food Nation? It is a movie that shows us how fast food affect people’s lives and heath through three stories, and how much Americans like fast food. Americans’ reactions about the effects of food safety is obvious. Before I came to the United States, I had heard that American people eat fast food very often, then I did my research, which indicated that currently, fast food has been a key role in America, and they prefer eating out to cooking at home. So what is fast food? Fast food is a kind of inexpensive food, such as fried chicken, hamburgers, and hot dogs, which are prepared and served quickly. Fast food is a very popular option in modern cities and for all kinds of people, especially for workers and teenagers, because fast food is very convenient, cheap, and quick. However, as a fact, many people are concerned about the harmful effects of eating too much fast food. Some harmful drawbacks of fast food are obesity and heart disease, because fast food often involves frying, sugar, and salts, which play bad roles in people’s healthy balance. In addition, fast food changes the traditional eating culture that people used to have. I think fast food is a double-edge sword, it does have many advantages, but it also has its defects. Therefore, we need to choose the best food for us to eat. Price
In today’s world it is common for everyone in a family to go out to eat especially at fast food restaurants. At every corner there is a variety of different restaurants ready to take your money and feed you. Most of which are built around the idea that mass producing food will bring more profits. This causes problems such as market saturation, unhealthy conditions, and foodborne illnesses. With current laws not regulating the majority of the fast food industry, different problems arise with no solutions to fix them. By providing appropriate solutions we can assist in maintaining a healthy world.

The company will be incorporated in September 2015. We want to establish a canteen that is located at 19 Kitchener Drive in Darwin city. This is a middle-sized restaurant that serves and provides healthy contemporary style food. The location will be just outside the Charles Darwin University Business School and close to a dense population of Waterfront Precinct. The CDU Waterfront Campus was opened at the beginning of 2015 and there is an estimated student population of up to 600 students when at capacity, which will have a huge impact on the numbers in the Waterfront on a daily basis. However, the food price in Waterfront Precinct is relatively expensive and not affordable for most of the students. Moreover, it takes a long time to wait for serving the meal. Compared to competitive restaurants, we plan to provide cheap and fast food. In addition, we want to supply a variety of food from Asia, Europe, America as well as local food because most of students in business school are international students. We are currently financing a sum of start-up capital ($ 200,000) which will be used to purchase restaurant furnichure and decorate. According to the budget, the payback period is short which is about five months to recover costs. There is a conservative estimate of $250,000 net profit in the first year, and the risk of this project is low.
Business plans are documents used for planning out specific details about your business. They can range in size from a simple few sentences to more than 100 pages with formal sections, a table of contents and a title page. According to Entrepreneur Magazine, typical business plans average 15 to 20 pages. Comprehensive business plans have three sections business concept, marketplace and financial and these are broken down into seven components that include the overview or summary of the plan, a description of the business, market strategies, competition analysis, design and development, operations and management, and financial information.
Prior to initiating a business, it is necessary for the management and the people involved to make sure that a proper business plan is set out in order to understand the needs of the business. In addition to this, it should also be made sure that the market is properly analysed and all the competitors are studied before taking any step related to the new business. Every business has different needs and is initiated in a different scenario. The business plan under evaluation in this paper will be of a sports retailer. All the various aspects of a business related to sports will be evaluated and different elements will be understood in order to learn more. The purpose of evaluating and reviewing a business plan is to make sure that the right information is known before the business is set up and all the pros and cons are understood.
The rising prices of key ingredients, like oil, corn and beef force the industry to increase its cost. In addition, consumers are always looking for product innovation, like new flavors or new product. Among of all, customers’ growing interest in healthy food is the major driving force which forces the industry to make strategic changes. More and more traditional fast food chains start to add healthy items in its menu and advertise more on low-fat, low-sodium products. For example, McDonald’s popular Happy Meals have fewer calories and include a side of fruit. Its Chicken McNuggets now have less sodium. Health-conscious trend also represents a potentially higher threat of new entrants and higher competitive advantages of substitutes. The new entrants focus more on the organic food with more nutrition and try to lead a quick yet healthy life style. Organic to Go and High Noon are growing very fast under this driving force. According to QSR, the fast casual restaurants are a growing source of competition for the fast food industry, like Chipotle, Panera Bread and Noodles & Company. Combining the convenience of fast food restaurants with the quality of casual dining, this new alternative to fast food threatens to steal market share from the fast food industry.
