To maintain its position and remain successful, Dollar Tree “needs to get a better performance from its Family Dollar Store outlets, which were struggling prior to the merger" (Much, 2016, para. 2). Merging with Family Dollar now enhances Dollar Tree’s range of customers, new markets, market shares, financial performance, and improve growth prospects (Much, 2016). Additionally, this acquisition anticipates generating significant synergy opportunities and free cash flow to pay off debts (Guiler, 2015, para. 13 & 14).

A little background on the Kroger/TeamCo relationship: Kroger, recently submitted a full redemption request to TeamCo (TeamCo is a FoF and the majority of their business is with Kroger). As a result, TeamCo has started the liquidation process and will no longer exist as of January 2018. This drug war does not involve gangs or cartels. It's not the bloods and crips fighting for territory or street corner marijuana sales. There were no drive-bys or retaliatory hits. Yet, this drug deal is going to have repercussions for all Americans...if it is found to be legal.
As a Costco Wholesale consultant we are looking to expand our company in a foreign market. Costco wholesale first opened in 1976 under the name of Price Club who was originally serving to small businesses. Our company provides a wide rang of merchandise ( food, electronics, clothing, etc.) and the convenience to have a exclusive member service. Later on the company decided that they could achieve greater sells by serving to a selected audience of non-business members therefore the first Costco warehouse was opened in 1983 in Seattle. Our operation is simple we like to keep costs down and let our members save. Since our company has been expanding globally we have been looking for the next country that we would like to open our company in. The
Costco: the big box wholesale retail store. Costco has been around for almost 50 years, offering bulk products at wholesale prices. As most families have adaptive to being small, large or blended, there is always something that wholesale stores have that is worth buying in bulk. You have the option of buying detergent, paper products or even food in bulk. Now a day, some of the “big box” stores even offer hot foods, clothing and furniture.
The fact that Costco has one of the most efficient market supply chains in the world whereby it facilitates the movement of merchandise from the manufacturer to store shelves with the least amount of physical effort and labor is another reason that makes Costco so successful. As of 2016 Costco inventory turnover ratio sits at 12.94. Inventory turnover ratio for 2016: Sales / inventory; Costco Net sales for 2016 was $116,073,000 and inventory for 2016 was $8,969,000 which comes out $116,073,000 / $8,969,000 = 12.94. Which means that Costco is able to turn over its entire inventory roughly about 13 times a year. This process of eliminating the need for breaking down pallets and repacking it for different stores is where Costco excels at and that’s good news for Costco bottom line. Wulfraat (2014).

Walgreens blindly believed Theranson Inc. to keep off other market competitors. Even though there were many doubts, Walgreens still signed a contract with Theranos which it cannot back off. Finally, during FDA inspection, the truth revealed. Now, federal agency's action to push Theranos for corrective actions is the only hope for Walgreens to save themselves if they break the contract with Theranos.
The payment processing landscape at Walgreens has evolved over the years to meet the growing number of businesses need and to support the increasing number of payment methods accepted (e.g. VISACheckout, MasterPass, Apple Pay). With this, there was a need to enhance the existing data security measures for credit and debit card transactions during capture, in-transit, or storage within any Walgreen’s systems, as well as to prepare for future business demand and upcoming payment industry changes to ensure that customer data is secure while also ensuring business processes are not hindered or inhibited.

Smart phones are allowing customers to shop with their phones inside stores; credit cards are accepted via phones vs. cash registers. Technology brings online shopping vs. in store shopping. And, advertising is popping up on smart phones as electronic messages as customers shop based on their location. Service is defiantly the key to keep a customer coming into a department store.
