BP is always seeking new opportunities for advancement in technology so that their operation is safer and more efficient. The company is leading the way in in the energy industry with the world’s largest supercomputer used for commercial research, located in Houston and also the first to use drones in the United States. The HR department ensures there is a sustained quality to relationships. They establish and communicate policies, practices and rules the organization expects both management and employees to follow. Regardless of profitability trends set by the two oil firms in the U.S. market, they have been facing financial decline like the rest of the companies in other industries. The two firms are like two sailing ships which are taking longer time to sink. In the last few years, the production capacity of Chevron and Exxon has decreased and their listings on the stock market have become weak. The continuation of construction and drilling which requires billions of dollars in expense of oil production might make them experience a bigger financial crisis (Wilson, 2009).

Apart from that, HR of Tesco are having recruitment and selection process to avoid the mismatching between person and the job. Tesco attract individuals on a timely basis, in sufficient numbers, and with appropriate qualifications, to apply for jobs with an organization. HR will select the best candidate from applicant pool that best suit for the job.

Firstly, recruitment is the process of searching for candidates who will be qualified to meet the desired positions in the company. Figure 1.1 shows the four step process in recruiting potential prospects into any company.
