Also an interview with the funds/account manager to release the funds to pay for the personal development courses. Leadership styles have significant effects on organizations. For instance, it influences organizational culture and determines how leaders address conflict. The leadership theories helped me understand the concept of leadership better because it educates me on the different leadership options that are available. Leadership and followership is not based on specific characteristics. Leaders must draw from things and approaches to find the right style. A follower’s attitude determines the way a leader leads. According to Johnson (2011) “Being a good follower means ensuring your boss is supported, but only if he is making optimum decisions”.

The more autocratic and standardised approach that previously characterised my management and leadership style has proven to be sub optimal when applied as a singular methodology. Business ethics, social, and environmental guidelines frame the expectations of an organization's stakeholders including customers, employees, and regulatory bodies. An organization's ethical guidelines encompass how the organization and its employees embody ethical principles in their dealings, with each other, and other stakeholders.
