“I think it is important to keep up with things in the community, the old people need entertainment too,” said junior, Hailey Hoskins, who helped put on a senior prom at the Cokato Manor. Dassel-Cokato high school students took an afternoon off school to participate in service learning, where they went around the community helping others.
Over 40 residents attended the senior prom. There was a photo-booth, nail painting, music for the residents to dance to, and coffee and cookies after. Before the prom started, chamber choir sang and the band played a few songs.

“It is hard to keep them interested, some of them are scared they will not know how to play a game, or that it will take them too long to pick up on it, so they decide to go back to their room,” said Terri Taylor, an employee at the Manor.
Even with the activities planned at the Manor, there is dull times. “Sometimes residents are still pacing back and forth, it isn't good for them. When kids come around it just lightens the mood, they all seem to smile and talk more,” said Taylor.
It is important for the residents to stay busy for their health. When they are bored and pacing the halls, they often get confused and worried. It makes the jobs of the nursing staff more difficult.

Moreover, a tradition that we have at South Walton is each separate class competes to create a banner and decorates a hallway trying their hardest to impress the judges. Each class is assigned to a different hallway in which they must work extremely hard to complete as much as possible in the two weeks given. Although we struggled to encourage seniors to participate in hallway and banner decorations, we managed to complete the

Well I'm more awake than this morning, and I'm braining better. Since the prom spread is Megan x2, Emily, and Mine's I just was wondering if you know what Dani has in terms of prom-posal pictures, or information. Next class I would like to gather those resources so that we're not scrambling next Monday. Also since this is Dani's spread should we keep the title and layout, and everything and just plug in pictures or take creative control. I'm fine with any of them but I don't want to overstep/understep my boundries.

There are many stages in a person’s life, people usually just try to fit in. An individual will normally look for “groups”, or people who share the same interests as themselves. In order to get them into a certain group the individual needs to feel as if they are at a safe place to just be themselves without having to be judged by another person. For example, in Prom Night in Mississippi, Morgan Freemen worked at desegregating the blacks and whites prom. He wanted to people to realize that there shouldn’t be groups that they were expected to grow up in. They should be able to be with whomever they decided to hang out with, whether it's a black person hanging out with a white person. These students in this movie experienced in-groups and out groups and they attempted to work against them.

“It is almost time”, my big sister said as we count down the days for prom. Prom was the only event I was looking forward to during my senior year. The thought of dressing and dancing with friends excited me. While the days pass by I scratched off each day and I was thrilled to see how close prom was coming. I began preparing myself by getting all my school work done and eating healthy for the highlight of my senior year.
