Compare And Contrast The Roman Empire And The Persian Empire

The Persian Empire is considered one of the most successful empires at its time. What made the Persian Empire so unique and successful, was because of how sophisticated there government was. Like other empires the Persian Empire had a religion. This made the people of Persia freely think about their ruler and help the empire out in any way. The Persian empire compared to preceding empires, (such as the Assyrian Empire etc) were relatively less oppressive and abusive to their people. This prevented the empire from collapsing that easily. Which is one reason why they advanced their rule for another 200 years (1,429 years in Dynasty rule (1979)).

In what ways did these empires differ from one another? What accounts for those differences?

Have you ever wondered the difference in ancient civilizations? I am going to tell you about the differences in these civilizations; Rome, China, and Persia. Two of these places are still here, but the other was taken over and is no longer in existence. Though these places are old, they have played a big part in the growth of humanity. They have played a major part in our culture, religion, and everyday activities. Many of the things that we do today are based upon what they did way back in these times. Without Rome, China, and Persia: Do you think we would be the same as we are today? They are all different, but they have one thing in common, they helped evolve the human species.

The Roman Republic and the Roman Empire both made advancements in the way of life, but both ended with their own conflicts and civil wars. Both kingdoms lasted about the same amount of time making it difficult to distinguish which one was greater. They both show times of great conquest and demolishing civil wars. The two were similar in their expansion of land, language, and resources. The ancient civilizations had very different ways of running their empires throughout their time. The Persians and Greeks held very true to this statement. They both had different sources that contributed to the power they held. The Persians had a very large empire and had a specific way of controlling it. First lets see how the Persians came to be. Cyrus, the son of the Assyrian king, was supposed to be killed as a baby. He was instead taken to a village that soon became called Persia. As Cyrus matured, the people could tell he had the characteristics of a king. He soon became just that. He didn’t want to be just a ruler though, he wanted to be different. Persia and Greece were beautiful and prosperous empires and where the most influential of their time. In this essay I will talk about the two main empires’ political structures and their economy and I will also state similarities and differences between the two empires. The two empires’ political structures might have varied greatly but their economies were very similar. Even though they had differences and had major battles they were still the ideal empires of their time.

There were four great multicultural Empires in our world’s history Ancient Greece, The Roman Empire, Persia and China. I am going to focus on Ancient Greece and the Persian Empire, what geographical features did each region offer to help the people build these great empires, what were some of the cultures of this empires, and what changes did they have over time? Going further into details on the Persian Empire, who were two of the leaders and what contributions did they make to Persia, what methods did they use to expand the region and gain power? How did the political system change over time?

The Roman Empire lasted from 201 BC to 476 AD and conquered many lands bordering them, including Mediterranean and covered all of western Europe and half of Britain. On the other hand, the Mongol empire lasted from 1206 AD to 1386 AD and conquered much of Russia, Islam, and many of the Slavic peoples. Their conquests were swift and brutal, often leaving thousands dead behind them and successfully becoming the civilization who had conquered the most land. Although both of the two empires were highly successful, but in my opinion, the Roman empire was more successful because they lasted much longer, was ruled by many successful and powerful leaders such as Julius Caesar and Alexander the Great, and also because it left behind many positive

The World Empire was one of the most intelligent, creative and dominant empires of mankind. Before the World Empire was called the World Empire it was just called Persia. After King Darius failed to conquer Greece he carried Persian arms into Western India. It was there that King Darius would have the first members of the World Empire. Thirty seven years later the World Empire consisted of countries such as Anatolia, Iran, Mesopotamia, Egypt along with Western India. Under the ruling of King Darius and his son Xerxes the World Empire was assembled at full strength. The reason why this World Empire was special was the fact that these five countries had never be united before.

The Roman and Han Empires were among the greatest empires in history. The Han prospered in 202 BCE - 220 C.E and the Roman Empire in 27 BCE- 476 C.E. By the early second century CE, Rome controlled the entire Mediterranean coastline and had to use military force to set up borders against their adversaries, the Huns. During the Han, colonies were established in Korea and military campaigns were mounted in order to control their neighbors, the Xiongnu. Both of these empires had similar rises by using strong military power and expansion, which helped them both strive in economic trade. Although there are many similarities in the reasons that contributed to the rise of these empires, there are also several contrasting reasons for their decline. These two empires differ because Rome allowed plague to end their empire while the Han kept ruling.

Throughout history many civilizations have risen and fallen without so much of a second thought from historians. However there have been civilizations that climbed to the top of the metaphorical food chain and stayed there and influenced not only their region but the world for countless millennium even after they were no longer a functioning empire. Two such empires were the Roman Empire and the Persian Empire. The first factor to consider when thinking of successful empires would be geographical location. The second factor would have to be the leadership, and the third would have to be the method in which the empire expands. All of these factors are what makes a small civilization with great potential a formidable empire that lasts longer than a lifetime.

We had many revolutionary wars that shaped our world into becoming what it is today. The Persian Wars were one of those unforgettable events that inspired not only our military structure but government as well. The Persian Wars lasted for almost half a decade from 498 BCE to 448 BCE between the Persian Empire, of course, and Greek poleis. The war was centered around expanding the Empire of Persia as it claimed and took over land within battle and then ruling it as one while making a profit from it. Most of what we know about the Persian wars was written by Herodotus, who was born 484 BCE and gives us our primary source of what really took place during that time.

The Persian empire Spanned from the west side of Egypt to the north side of Turkey and from Mesopotamia all the way to the east side of the Indus river.

The policy was different because the king was different. The Cyrus, king of the Persian Empire was loyal to the people he conquered and he had the policy like building temple of Lord again in Jerusalem and set the faith of god to the people so that they can again start to believe in their god. Thus, he made the proclamation about this through his rule. Furthermore, his policy was not to treat the conquered people as a salve so he freed the slaves and also fulfilled their needs to promote their well-being. While the kings of Assyrians and Babylonia empire had different policy related to killing people, exiling them, destroying temples and forcing poorest ones to be their slaves. Thus, we can see here the Persian Empire definitely had different policy than other
