To Support Social and Emotional Development and To Provide Positive Guidance Providing physical and emotional security for each child and helping each child to know, accept, and take pride in him or herself while developing a sense of independence is my responsibility as a child caregiver. Part of my responsibility is treating each child as an individual and promoting their own strengths and needs as they grow. To encourage growth in each of these areas I use books, pictures, stories, and discussions to help children identify with positive events and experiences in their lives. I help to ensure each of my children feel love, affection, and security through consistent encouragement and positive reinforcement. The children I serve …show more content…
How do you constructively deal with young children’s challenging behaviors? In thinking about the way I was raised, I feel like I was very “lucky” so to speak. Both my Mother and Father always encouraged me and gave me multiple opportunities to succeed. My philosophy for guiding my student’s positive behaviors starts at the front door of my classroom. I can honestly say I set the “tone” for my classroom. I meet my students with a smile, a song, and a “good morning”…”today is a beautiful day!”. I lean down to their level and compliment them on any good thing I can find. For example, “You smile is just what I needed to see today” or “My favorite color is red and you are wearing a red shirt!”. Every child will have a bad day, just like every adult has a bad day occasionally. It is my job to see the bright side of the situation and help him or her find something
Respecting children and help them to develop in a positive, caring, nurturing and responsive childcare environment.
However, with children and young people it is important to remember your relationship to them as a professional care giver. For children and young people an essential part of communication is praise and encouragement, and this helps to build self-esteem and confidence. There are four methods that can be used –
An integral part of all of my roles is the welfare of the children. Building secure relationships with them and being aware of any issues which may arise. If I have concerns for a child’s well being, the actions I would take include; relaying concerns to the class teacher, learning mentor, SENCO,
It is important to maintain a safe environment for students inside and outside of the classroom. My goal is to make sure that the children understand what being safe is. I make sure that they know how to play safe. All of the toys and the materials that the children use are safe. I make sure that there are no broken toys that may harm them around. The children along with me create the class rules. I make sure that the outlet plugs are in place and that the cabinets are secure. The children follow the classroom rules. I make sure that I supervise the children at all times. I also make sure that I observe the areas where they play, work, and eat. I make sure that shoes are tied. I make sure that
It is essential that positive behaviour is always promoted and praised to encourage children to continue their ‘good choices’. Teachers and other adults in schools should also demonstrate positive behaviour as children notice when adults’ behaviour is out of character. If teachers are being positive role models it is more likely that pupils will also behave in a positive way.
I am an Air Force veteran that separated from active duty a year ago to pursue a college degree because I know I have more to offer to the world. I am currently chasing a double degree major in finance and criminal justice. I want to put my degrees to use by working for a federal agency. As the youngest of three, I am used to having stuff handed to me, but I broke out of that habit to at the age of nineteen. The military is helping me pay to be a full time student. I am very grateful for this opportunity, but due to the amount of hours I am taking for a double major, working is very tough to fit into my schedule. My goals are to learn Khmer (my native language), and how to play the piano by the age of twenty-six. I need to maintain at least
First of all, I consider my doctorate program as a project which has scope, time and budget. Beside this, I have short-term and long-term plans, so, I would embed this doctoral project parallel with other goals. I have created a dashboard to monitor my goals; Also, I have a to-do list for my daily basis and doctoral assignment to be on time.
Working with Families on Addressing Feelings and Problem Solving was a topic that struck a cord with myself. I personally do not work with children presently; however, I feel that this chapter will be most vital in my future work with children. Being able to solve problems and express feelings are skills essential to function well in a community. In a preschool or school age settings conflicts will occur and without the means of resolving these issues; the environment will remain unpleasant.
product, female entertainment accounts, accounts under age-18) that can only be effectively filtered by looking at the account itself one by one and excluding those accounts that have no interest in our arena.
As a parent of 5 kids, my responsibilities are feeding my children, keeping them out of danger, and to form a positive sense of morality.
Three of the seventeen competencies I consider to be the most important professional goals for me to focus on in order to increase my professional growth are:
Being a leader requires developing a number of skills and competencies. However, it must be noted that some of these competencies are easier to develop than the others. Self-awareness is a critical competency. It is often assumed that one knows a lot about oneself, but in reality this may not be the case. It is imperative to be aware about your strengths and weaknesses. This competency is not easily developed, as it requires efforts and patience and one may not know how they would react in extreme situations. Similarly, leading with tenacity is a difficult skill to acquire. Being tenacious is not an easy task because staying firm even when things don’t turn out as you expect can be challenging. Moreover, it is difficult to keep others motivated
As children grow their needs are ever changing too. We as parents or caregivers teach the basics and as they grow we allow them to learn with our guidance. Myself now as a parent has shown me things I could have done better with my siblings but I learn from those mistakes and as every other parent around me we feel we are failing. Sitting down and looking at the past years of child rearing and child rearing today it’s a tough job, we may feel like we are going crazy, but at the end of the day I know I survived another day in helping those whom I love grow into the best they can
It was the summer after I graduated from my university when I found it was time to find myself a first real job. Up until that point in my life, the only job experience I had was waiting tables and babysitting for my neighbor’s and family’s children, but I knew that I did not want to serve food or change nappies for the rest of my life. I knew that my one and true appetency was to become a writer. So during the very same summer, I scheduled an interview for a job as a journalist for the LA Times.
I choose the functional competency domain on assessment/diagnosis/ conceptualization since it was a core aspect in the field of psychology. Assessment and diagnosis involves interpretation of information about a patient/participant; in other words, you must has scientific knowledge of what assessment entails and be able to conceptualize the information. The first part of a professional psychologist job will be to look at how a client was behaving, what the person was saying and to make some sense out of it. In order for the psychologist to make sense out of a client's behavior, there has to be an assessment which can be done for diagnosis purpose or for research. The psychologist should be able to give an accurate description of personality,
