A composer creates music for the mass to listen to. Composers create music for movies, Video Games, Youtube videos, churches, and much more. These songs add an emotional aspect to the product. Without the music, a somewhat boring game could be made into a great game. Because there are many composers in the world, only a select few get to create music for the best products. Even so, while many believe that the profession does not pay well, one has to think about what they truly want to do. A composer has educational requirements most of the time, an interest in the industry, a passion despite the salary, know of the advancement and outlook of the industry. A composer’s salary is only as good as his/her music. Due to that factor, creating music can give you a salary ranging from a little as twenty-thousand to one-hundred-thousand. While a source such as the Bureau of Labor Statistics will say the average salary “49,820 per year”. The growth of composer as a job is lower than average according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Other sources outline that this is not the case for the most part, as “Prospects and advancement: Fair”(Yager). The work environment as well is different from the average. Many composers work in a recording studio, or work at home, it depends on the composer.
