Discipline
Discipline is the most useful quality. It means to act in an orderly manner, to act strictly according to principle. Discipline involves the ability to obey and follow simple task, orders, or request. Discipline is something you acquire through years of being taught, from young to old discipline should be a huge factor of your life. It should be something you live by and use often. Discipline leads to success in everything you do from school, or sports as a child or teenager to your career as an adult. If you use discipline in school or athletics you’ll be a better student, getting good grades. If you use discipline in athletics you gain success in being a recognized athlete which can lead to

When given an article fifteen in the military this is a form of military disciplinary action. Every action comes with disciplinary consequences whether those consequences are good or bad very much depends on your ability of discipline. Even though I have not been deployed yet, I know that down range discipline plays a huge factor on and off the battle field. You need to have the discipline to do what your leaders have asked of you. Whether it be getting your leave documents or listening to them when they tell you to get stacked on a door preparing to enter and clear the rooms in the building. Off the battle field discipline could be used in cleaning your room, doing your dishes, making sure your bed is made or even just making sure your floor is swept and mopped everyday. This also helps you in the aspect of being healthy. If you don’t do your dishes mold can become a problem which can cause serious illness. So a disciplined life style is a healthy life style. I think that the most discipline was instilled in me through basic training but I’ve been getting practice with discipline since I was young kid. As a teenager, when I got in trouble at home I would get spanked or grounded depending on how severe the mistake was. This is a form of a disciplinary action that almost every parent uses when raising their children. So even as parents discipline is important. It provides requires your child or children to respect you not only
The Assertive Discipline Model is a model that comes under the Management Theories. The two main theorises behind this model if discipline are Lee and Marlene Carter, the husband and wife duo have put thousands of hours research into helping perfect this model (Allen, 1996). They see the Assertive Discipline Model as being an approach that is direct and positive; it allows the teachers to teach and the students to be in an environment where they are able to lean to their best ability (Allen, 1996). The Carter’s model of Assertive Discipline relies on the teacher to punish unacceptable behaviour in a way in which will deter the child from repeating this behaviour again (Allen, 1996). A key point that Carter and Carter make in their model of Assertive Discipline is that the behaviour that is expected in the classroom is well known, there are warnings given to the students about their behaviour reminding them what is expected of them and then it is expected that the teacher following through with the consequence that adheres with the incorrect behaviour (Konza, Grainger & Bradshaw, 2001). Teachers using the Assertive Model will under no circumstances tolerate students that disrupt them the teacher, or other students from learning (Konza, Grainger & Bradshaw, 2001). The consequences for students that have misbehaved must be clear and concise so that the students themselves have a clear understanding of what the punishment is and what the behaviour is that
Many of the standards that I would have frowned upon outside the u s army are essential to the work success within the United States military. Punishment of not following orders is not deemed to be a positive occurrence in an average person’s life, whereas the United States military guide maintains that punishment strengthens my determination and discipline and enables me to learn and fully take the importance of following orders in US army seriously. Not following orders is not an optional choice while living the standards of the United States military.
In conclusion you are responsible for you actions either if you’re wrong or right. The articles are there to help protect you either you are the victim or the problem. Article 86 is set in place for accountability example if you do not tell me or if I can’t you then it is my responsibility to find you and make sure your ok but if you leave because you cannot adapt to ARMY life then you will face the conaquinces of a court marshal and/or jail, or even punished under the death penalty in time for desertion while in the time of war. Article 91 I feel that you have to disciplined in the first place you must be able to just bite your tongue and do what you need to do and get it done .Your superior non-commissioned officer has to follow orders just like we do everything gets pushed down . If the first Sergeant said to do a job and we don’t do it then we will get written up for being insubordinate because we did not do what we were told everything in the army is a guide line for our protection and if you violate any article then you will be punished. But all together even though we wasn’t at our place of duty we should have asked what time we needed to in the office but since we didn’t then we have to the corrective training and put it in the past and move on to the
Discipline is very important for anyone who is part of the Uniformed Public Services. Discipline is put in place to maintain order and to make sure that everyone works to the best of their abilities. All the services are organised in a similar way with a clear rank structure and clearly defined roles and responsibilities, which all rely on discipline to work effectively.
In this essay, I will be looking at and justifying the role of discipline within the public services, as well as evaluating the impact of discipline. Discipline takes a massive role in the public services for many reasons. It is crucial for the servicemen to stick to the rules, which I will be demonstrating within my case study which looks at what happens when a Buckingham Palace Guard is seen pirouetting.
The Disciplinary Regulations of the United States Army define military discipline as "a strict and honorable compliance by all servicemen with the order and rules prescribed by laws, military regulations and orders of commanders (superiors)."
There are many reasons why a soldier should follow the orders they are given and every single one is important. An order is a tasking given to a soldier of something that needs to be done in a timely and efficient manner. The three main reasons why it is important for a soldier to follow the orders they are given is to be combat effective, disciplined, and to just be a good soldier. When a soldier doesn't follow the orders they are given in not only hurts themselfs but it hurts the team and the goals of the mission. When the mission objectives are hurt by not following orders this weakens everything that is necessary to win the war.
The meaning of discipline in the army is thought from day one in basic training until the day we graduate and see our families. Discipline is vital to following orders efficiently, without it soldiers wouldn’t react fast enough when something is being commanded or would simply not be concerned enough to perform the task in hand, failing the team. We follow our commander’s orders because we certainly know that no matter what decision they make it will always be its overall good for the U.S, the army, and the individual soldiers. When an order is given we need to fully understand the order, and think about what needs to be done using the least amount of resources or time to achieve the mission in hand to complete the commanders or NCO’s specific commands. This is the most important key when performing a mission; the soldiers should never question the logic behind the command but should carry out
A good leader in the United States Army is made-up of several different essential characteristics. As soon to become leaders in our profession, is our individual responsibility to know, understand and apply these characteristics in the way we conduct ourselves every day. Because we are the role models for soldiers to follow not only in our job but also in our personal life. Stewardship of the Army profession in one of these mayor characteristics of a good leader in our career. Being a steward of the profession, focuses in three mayor traits: character, competence and commitment.
There are many reasons in that in this world we have rules, regulations, laws, traffic signs, and other means of directions that individuals must follow for various reasons. Without the utmost care to follow these rules, things that could easily be prevented may happen, resulting in very negative things. This however, is even more important when in the Army, as the consequences can be very severe. The Army has a plethora of rules and regulations that all soldiers, regardless of rank or duty station must follow. These rules and regulations are put forth to us for various reasons. These reasons can range from having a professional appearance to keeping yourself alive. The most common rules and regulations are about common courtesy and appearance. These are important to all soldiers, as this is what the citizens of not only the United States of the America judge us from, but also most of the world judges our nation based soley on the individuals of the Army. Since we as a group are split all across the world, many people see us each and everyday. Some countries only see Americans through the soldiers they see everyday. We represent the pride and honor of the American nation, and without following the rules and regulations that govern these common courtisies and appearance we do nothing but fail at our duty, and let down the American people. A small, but notable reason to follow the regulations of the army is the
Duty is one of the values outlined the Army values. In my opinion it is one of the most important of all of them. It is very important but without the other values, Duty by itself cannot assist in accomplishing the mission. We still have the other values like leadership, respect, selfless service, honesty, integrity, and personal courage. These all set up the framework for us to be able to accomplish or duty as soldiers. All of them work hand in hand with each other. Duty is defined in Webster’s dictionary as, “obligatory tasks, conduct, service or functions that arise from ones position.” It is one of the primary values in the Army today. Duty is the reason while we get up every day and prepare to and defend the United States of America with
And it is the only tool that one can also use to fight against poverty, harassment, difficulties, violence and discrimination in our society. If a student is disciplined and educated, he or she can then become successful in their later life and society. Therefore, our students must maintain discipline to earn dignity and success. If the student is not disciplined, all the teachers will not like him/her and if teachers dislike any student, then they will be reluctant to give the student the knowledge they have. A particular situation does not favour the student and it will hinder his or her progress. So therefore, it’s important that students listen to their teachers and family’s advice and take their rightful place in school and society at large.
In sum, during the army I was not happy. For instance, I had to removal snow in the cold winter and had to have military training during the military service. Everything was tiring, but this was my mission. As I said before, if you can’t avoid it, you might as well try and enjoy it. This phrase always brainwashed me because I really wanted give up military service, so I thought hardship discharge. I was trying to hit my hand with hammer at the moment. But, I did not do it because if I am not surviving in the army, I cannot do anything from my whole life. When I was annoyed and exhausted. However, I learned patience during the army. If I did not go to the military and I did not know about patience value. Thus, the patience is one of my favorite
Discipline is an essential component of every child’s developmental process. From birth, the primary deficiency of children is their lack of knowledge and understanding of the world. Contrary to the negative connotation of the word’s modern usage, “discipline” actually has origin in Latin meaning “to teach.” Therefore, discipline is simply the teaching of information that is necessary for children to be successful in their respective environments. In child development, discipline refers to the teaching of self-control and morals intended to foster sound reasoning and behavior. The response to inappropriate behavior through physical punishment is what gives discipline the negative connotation among many in contemporary society.
- Discipline: Discipline is an important asset in any endeavor and it becomes more important or decisive in the case of the self-initiated learner because nothing can be achieved without self-discipline.
