The second level is the conventional, where one’s focus is on other but is less self-centered and the focus is based on what other think say and do. In this stage what’s right is thought to be that helps other or what rules and laws are to be followed. The two questions to be asked in stage are “which course of action would best serve justice and are there any laws that indicate whether l should disclose this information”. The problem solving methods that might be helpful to assist Jerry in making an ethical decision would be to establish trust with the patient and become aware of the problem. Then analyze the problems and decide on a plan with the patient. He will then want to make sure he reinforces the commitment to the patient and activate the plan. Last, he will follow through with the task and monitor everything until the situation is taken care of.

Is pleasing the customers, and telling them what they might want to hear, more important than being honest with them? When clients ask the company for reports, their main interest should be to get a thorough and comprehensive analysis. If they were only looking for a confirmation of what they wanted to hear, they should not need the research.

Why does physician-patient communication matter in healthcare? During my nursing school pediatric clinical rotation, one of the patient’s I had the opportunity to provide care for, I will call her Sophia for privacy purposes, was in the pediatric unit recovering from surgery to remove a four-pound trichobezoar (hairball) from her intestines. Sophia was four days postoperative at the time and was on the unit for the purpose of being monitored in order to ensure she was recovering well after the procedure. Recuperation seemed to be taking longer than what would be expected for Sophia and her incision site was draining copious amounts purulent fluid. Because of the reports from Sophia’s nurses along with the residents, the physician who performed the surgery ordered an antibiotic regiment to treat the apparent infection Sophia had acquired.
Everyday health care workers around the world are faced with tough decisions. The law guides many decisions but some decisions require ethical considerations. Making good ethical decisions is not always as easy as it seems. Making ethical decisions is even harder when the primary intention is to be helpful, but it is beyond an employee’s qualifications.
Everyone should take these step of moral development into consideration when making any decision in life. All parents should install these stages into their children. Parents can do this by, first teaching them all the stages and levels. They must know all the stages in order to understand them. Next, the parent should break down the importance of each stage, and what each decision would mean. They can do this by giving the example of experience they have been in or heard of. Lastly, the parent should give the child a chance to live and learn with the use of what they were taught. This could help the parent see if the child truly understood the importance of these types of thinking, and help the child learn from their own experience. If every parent did this the world would be a more conscious

The second tier is the general moral considerations. It consists of prima facie principles which are the obvious do’s and don’ts that most people have been raised with. For example, a person should tell the truth and not lie, be fair and not cheat, help and not hurt others, unless (in that specific situation) it must be overruled for a great reason. This tier is valued at zero to 100. In all cases, the higher the value, the higher the morality and its permissibility. In this tier, basic respect for individuals must be considered.

Ethics, deriving from the Greek ethos meaning character (Jennings, 2010), are the “moral principles that govern a person’s behaviour or the conducting of an activity” (Oxford Dictionary, 2015b) and establish the foundation of present-day research (Cropley, 2008; Flick, 2006). They are the “norms of conduct that distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable behaviour” (Resnik, 2011) and establish the values essential for the collaborative work between the researcher and the research subject (Jennings, 2010; Veal, 2006). The research at hand is therefore in accordance with the ethical principles as specified by Jennings (2010) and Veal (2006). This includes the free choice of participation in the research, the confidential usage of sensitive data received from respondents and the avoidance of harm to participants (Jennings, 2010). Besides, before the completion of the questionnaire all potential participants were informed about the purpose of the research and how the data will be used. All research subjects participated in the questionnaire survey on a voluntary basis and gave their consent for the usage of their data provided.
