Operational Strategy
-is concerned with how each part of the business is organized to deliver the corporate and business-unit level strategic direction. Operational strategy therefore focuses on issues of resources, processes, people etc. Strategy is the process of planning & executing various maneuvers or actions inan attempt to reach a goal. Strategy is often associated with business, politics,& military planning, but individuals can also strategize towards achieving their career, health . Strategy is essentially akin to planning but implies a maximization of resources with logical thinking, intelligence(acquired knowledge) & leverage
Strategy is differentiated from tactics in that tactics are micro strategies that contribute to large goal. Opening a successful business would fall under strategy achieving financing or an important client would be considered tactics towards strategy.

Strategy is defined as a plan of action designed to achieve a major objective. This is the overall operations to achieve a goal. During war the military has tactics which come from the art of planning. A strategy is the guide for the individual, business, or organization to achieve the objective at hand. An individual should map out and meditate in advance to reduce the chance of failing. So, for FedEx, it could be to map out routes to make sure delivery personal does not overlap each other. A strategy is a compass that guides a person along to make sure they achieve their objective.
Strategy is the direction and scope of an organisation over the long-term which achieves advantage for the organisation through its configuration of resources within a challenging environment, to meet the needs of markets. A strategy is a plan of action designed to achieve a specific goal or series of goals within an organizational framework.
According to Meyer, (2010), strategy is the action that company can take to achieve its desired goals. When it comes to a company, thinking can be said to be either long-term or short-term. Strategy does not stand alone in the organization, as it has been said above, it defines the path to accomplish objectives; so in order to have an strategy the company needs to have a defined mission, vision and objectives. The mission defines what will be achieved and what the purpose of the organization is. The vision is what the organization aspires to be in the future and provides motivation for people to perform at high level. Once the organization has clearly defined who it is and what it wants to become, it needs to establish objectives to measure accomplishments. Here is where strategy interacts, strategy is about decisions and resources that need to happen in order to accomplish mission, vision and objectives.
“Operation strategy concerns the pattern of strategic decisions and actions which set the role, objectives and activities of the operation.” It refers to the process to set mission and goals, make specific decisions for achieve specific objectives; and the procedure to design and formulate the strategy of operations. Operation strategy is one part of the organizational business strategy but it plays an important role in all functional areas of business. The role of using color in a marketing strategy must never be ignored.
