They would get a group of people that live in that state, and see what they want to do. They would gather them to pull the source of political power. They would make the people choose, a lot of the decisions are left to the legislatures that control the Constitution.
All in all, the reasons for slavery is to get the slaves to do all of the hard work. Some hard work that they did was farmed crops and picked cotton for clothes for people to wear. They also cooked and cleaned for their owners. Another thing they did was if they tried to escape they would be killed. These are great reasons why slaves did what they had to do.
In conclusion, Slavery lead to the Civil War. It did this because the North didn't want slavery and the South did want slavery to continue on. So they got into a battle, and the North won. With that being said, there is no more slavery to this day. People still believe that slavery should continue on today, but it does
Many people dream of being able to live the American Dream and sadly, many people fall in the wrong hands and get cheated on a fake American dream. Although, America is always advertised as “The Land of the Free” slavery is still going on and no one seems to be aware of it or concerned about it. Kevin Bales and Ron Soodalter talk about slavery in The United States, in their article, Slavery In The Land of the Free. In this article, Bales and Soodalter talk about how slavery is still happening in the country, but in many different ways. Bales and Soodalter use stories, statics, and comparisons of every slavery case there is in America. However, most of the stories they told were about Hispanics being in slaved, and did not really include stories of other races
States in the North believed in free labor that emphasized on the inherent dignity of labor and equality among men. The Northern States thought that slavery as an unfair competition since it uses men as to get more money. They also feared that in the future the plantation owners who dominated and controlled the politics in the South may soon threaten democracy which the Northern States enjoyed. It is because of these reasons that the Northern States wanted to end slavery once and for all in America. Slavery was the main cause of the Civil War.

The issue of slave owning stems from the differences in economies, which actually stems from differences in geography. Although there was a plentiful supply of suitable soil for farming crops along the coastline in the North, the land mainly consisted of rocky, mountainous land not suitable for planting. Because of this, the North had to find an alternate means of
Slavery began when the state’s economy began to expand and become more firmly entrenched. Farmeers found that using slaves were more profitable, and those who were able to afford slaves; bought them to work on big plantations. Slaves were also forced to work in the manufacturing labor force, especially the iron industry. By the 1860’s, slaves made up twenty-five percent of Tennessee’s population. With most of the state’s wealth in the land, the production of wheat, tobacco, corn, and cotton grew rapidly during that time period.
The North had large cities and was based on factories and mills. The South had few large cities and needed slaves to do hard agriculture work such as cotton. Slaves made up one-third of the population in the South. After many things that happened the South felt the only option was secession. One of the actions that caused secession was the election of Abraham Lincoln. The South feared when Lincoln was elected he would outlaw slavery. By February 1861 six states had seceded from the Union (Wise). Lifestyle and secession was a cause of the Civil War due to the division it created between the North and South. Lifestyle and secession were two main causes of the start of the Civil War.
The institution of slavery formed as slavery grew and the southern economy became more dependent on slaves. If slavery had been abolished earlier the whole economy would have crashed. Slaves were imported from Africa in huge numbers to work on Southern cotton plantations. When slavery was an issue in the civil war the south could not afford to abolish it completely and rapidly without losing their entire economy.
During the reconstruction ex-slaves were trying to find their true definition of freedom. After spending hundreds of years in slavery, African Americans had become more dependent on their slave owners after the signing of the emancipation proclamation that freed slaves in the south on January 1st 1863. After the freeing slaves didn't know what to really do with themselves having all the family they've ever had on the plantation and No land to raise their families on so, the slave owners offered them their homes on the plantation and maybe a few pennies a day earned for the task that was previously assigned to them during slavery, but this isn't freedom. After the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863 all slaves in the South were supposed to be

Antebellum slavery was an economic institution but it was more social and cultural because of the power it gave the white population during the antebellum era. Slavery was shown as social and cultural in the violent sadism exemplified by the slave masters/mistresses and overseers, slaves were dehumanized and seen as inferior because of their race, and in the way that religion was a tool used to not only justify slavery but also to train the enslaved. During the antebellum period, seeing slaves be tortured or beaten/punished was a common thing. In Frederick Douglass’s autobiography, Narrative of the life OF Frederick Douglass: An American Slave, Douglass detailed many different accounts of horrible brutality against enslaved people.

Some may argue that slavery itself did not start the war, the problems it created did. And in a way they are right. Slavery made each side believe they are different from one another. How could they see it any other way? They were divided by a Compromise line, ideals, different economies, and different political officials. The disunion of the nation was inevitable because of these differences and sparked many battles and rebellions pre-civil war; and under lincoln they become united.
Slavery took a major role in causing the Civil War because the Southerners loved the idea of free labor, while the Northerners and Abolitionist hated the idea. In the triangle trade in Africa we would destroy families because we bought them and took them away across the ocean. The labor we put them through was harsh, even against our own constitution. The Northerners also Abolitionist
