November 1863, an amazing speech was born. Abraham Lincoln was invited to deliver a remark of the bloody battle of Gettysburg. The place he gave the speech was at the dedication of the Soldiers' National Cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The speech given was a historical one and also a very short one.The mood was a bit uplifting and spiritually elevating. The speech went on to be considered historical and as one of the most important speeches in American history. The president made a lot of eye contact towards the audience to show that he actually revised the speech and meant it. The statement also mentioned its ideal of self-government which was also an important topic. Abraham Lincoln speech was considered historical and significant. The main reason the speech is so important is that of what it contained such as how he wanted to preserve the government. His words were powerful even though he rushed writing it down. The fact that he also mentioned "all men are created equal." Also showed that he supports all humans are created; equally, that was an important part of the Gettysburg speech. …show more content…

Abraham Lincoln gave a remark at the end of the speech -- "a government of the people, by the people, for the people"- most people can agree to this portion.
