GLOBAL WARMING AND ITS EFFECTS
Global Warming effects on the natural balance of environment. The world climate is going a significant change day by day.
There are many causes of Global Warming. The destruction and burning down of tropical forests , traffic clogging up the city streets , rapid growth of unplanned industries, the use of CFCs in packaging and manufacturing products, the use of detergents etc. cause Global Warming. Besides, overpopulation, deforestation are the causative factors of Global Warming. The setting up of mills and factories in an unplanned way has a great effect on environment. These mills and factories produce black smoke which gets mixed with air and increases the amount of CO2.
Burning of Gas such as

Scientists have warned in their reports that most of the glaciers will disappear within a period of 15 to 25 years. It will create problems of drinking water and food grains in most of the North American countries. India is not unaffected from it. The Himalayan glaciers have shrunk about 30 per cent after 1970.
The rise in sea levels is a major cause of concern. A large number of cities located in coastal areas will submerge in the sea. Besides, many island countries will ultimately “lose their existence and will be washed away from the surface of the earth. The damage of rising sea levels is diverse. Buildings and roads close to the water could be flooded and they could suffer damage from hurricanes and tropical storms. Experts believe that global warming could increase the intensity of hurricanes by over 50 per cent. In addition, as the sea rises, beach erosion takes place, particularly on steep banks.
Wetlands are lost as the level rises. Rise in atmospheric temperature will lead to the outbreak of air¬borne and water-borne diseases. It would also contribute to the rise in death caused by heat. The problem of drought would be frequent. Consequently, malnutrition and starvation will pose serious challenge before humanity.
Global warming is a great threat to the flora and fauna of the earth. A large number of species of them may become extinct.
The expanse of desert would increase. Low rainfall and rising temperature could add to the
However, issues the occur with rising temperature involve more severe floods, storms, droughts and fires which could then lead to higher death toll in human and animal life because for some animals it will be too hot to live. Due to this rise in Temperature Sea, level has increased dramatically and scientist estimate that the sea will continue to rise 15-95 cm by the end of the century. Sea levels are rising because two reasons. First with increasing average global temperatures, the water in Earth’s oceans expand in volume. This occurs because, when heated the molecules that make up a body of water move more rapidly and collide more often. The second reason is when glaciers and ice sheets melt the water that had previously been frozen the glaciers will melt and release the water cause more enter the oceans and
The Sea Level has increased over the past 200 years as average global temperatures have increased. The rise is due to two factors, the freshwater being added to the oceans from ice melt in the cryosphere, and the thermal expansion of the oceans due to rises in sea temperature. The sea level has risen 6 to 8 inches in the past 100 years. It is predicted to rise another 50 to 90 centimeters in the next century. As the sea level rises it’s jeopardizing rapidly growing coastal communities, which causes evacuation in some areas causing people to lose their homes. Sea level is the effect
Shifts in temperature and precipitation will be a shock to fragile ecosystems which depend on specific climatic conditions. Many species will be unable to adapt as fast as their environment changes and face sharply reduced numbers or extinction. Scientists estimate that a warming of just 2 degree will put as many as 30% of the world's species at risk of extinction. Plants and animals aren’t the only ones feeling the pressure of changing ecosystems. Many regions will face severe water shortages in a warmer world, creating the potential for conflict. It is believed that the genocide in Sudan’s Darfur region is at least in part a response to water shortages resulting from global warming.
Rising temperatures are causing melting glaciers, which cause rising oceans. Rising oceans will envelop entire coastal cities, killing or displacing millions of people. Our food sources will dwindle; entire species of animals will become extinct as we destroy their homes to rebuild; and as our population skyrockets, an unimaginable number of humans will be left homeless, starving, and sick.
Besides, the changes in the weather will do the damages to the various kinds of crops grown in different parts of the world. Many plants, such as maize and sugarcane, do not grow in higher temperature. Changes in the amount of rainfall will also harm many plants’ grow. This will lead to some countries not having enough food. Brazil, parts of Africa, south-east Asia, and China will be affected the most and many people could suffer from hunger.
In addition to this the global climate has begun to rise significantly, especially since the late 1970's. The National Academy of Sciences expects doubling of atmospheric carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases by the end of the 21st century, and this could raise the Earth's temperature anywhere from 1.5-4.5 celsius degrees by that time. Global warming affects the climate patterns of Earth in many ways, such as rises in temperature and precipitation and decreases in soil moisture. Agricultural productivity will increase in northern regions, but without moisture in the south it will drop dramatically. In addition there will be more frequent and violent storms and a plethora of local impacts around the world.
Global Warming has a huge affect on our daily lives and on animals. We lose a bunch of natural resources, especially fresh-water, because it melts into the salty oceans; however, attempts have been made including the slowing down of global warming by stopping the usage of fossil fuels; whether the attempts have been successful or not. The earth’s temperature is slowly increasing which is a massive long term factor on inhabitants all over the world. The Amazon Rainforest has also experienced many problems due to deforestation and the water circulation throughout all of the plants and trees. Global Warming is exponentially increasing causing the rapid melting of glaciers, which leads to ocean currents changing and
Due rise in temperatures, icebergs and ice crust will melt, what by the way will force sea-level rise and flood islands and continents. If Earth’s oceans water levels will continue to rise, it may also influence on the amount of fallouts, which may destroy living environment and habitat of different species.
This happens because of the gases emitted into Earth’s atmosphere keeping too much heat inside of Earth. Global temperature rise impacts climate because as the temperature continues to rise, it is causing extreme events to occur, because they feed off of heat. Droughts are being seen more frequently because of global temperature rise. Currently major droughts are occurring in the U.S. every 20 years, but if the temperature continues to rise as it is projected, these major droughts will happen every 2 to 3 years. This is concerning, because if more gases are continuing to be emitted globally, the “blanket” that these gases (such as Carbon dioxide) form will continue to trap more and more heat as time goes on, and it will make the global temperature much greater in the future, and then more extreme events will continue to form. Extreme events are happening more frequently than they ever have before. The U.S. has experienced increasing numbers of intense rainfall each year, and hurricanes are starting to reach level 5 each hurricane
There are many opinions for and against the idea of climate change. With all the different opinions, it can be hard to know what is true and what is just fake news. It’s no wonder people get so confused on the issue. Two main arguments that I will be addressing in this report is whether or not the Earth is warming and if in fact the earth is warming it does it affect plant or animal life.
Thesis: According to National Geographic Average temperatures have climbed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit around the world since 1880 and by 2050, rising temperatures could send more than a million of Earth's land-dwelling plants and animals down the road to extinction.
On planet Earth, many species have evolved to adapt to the environment so they can survive. Some of the species’ evolution was driven by global warming. As an article entitled “Conditions of Life: How Climate Change Has Driven Evolution” stated “They find that there have been six distinct waves of species diversity, and that the driving force of those waves has likely been climate change” (Walsh). Climate change has led to many changed is some biomes. Thus, species that live in that biome would have to adapt and change, or they will die. These changed and evolutions will eventually create a new kind of species that might be adorable or fascinating for scientists to study about. The next time you visit the zoo and you see a new species, there is a possibility that global warming might be the
2) Glaciers, sea ice and tundra will melt, contributing to global sea level rise . This will make 13 out of 15 of the world’s largest cities lying in coastal plains particularly vulnerable to rises in sea level and this can cause floods , tsunamis and many horrible disasters.
Sea level rise is a phenomena observed recently due to the effects of global warming on the state of water on our planet, the increase in temperature causes glaciers to melt and less water being trapped on land in the form of snow or ice, and the rising temperature causes the oceans themselves to expand, due to the decrease in density from the increased vibrations of the molecule causing each H2O molecule to take up more space.
In addition, destruction of property and submergence of coastal communities due to rise in sea levels will force large numbers of coastal residents to migrate inland. This will lead to overcrowding and competition for resources and jobs. The overcrowded conditions would allow diseases to spread
