We might disagree on the causes of global warming; however, we cannot ignore that it is happening. Although we still experience cold winters, average global temperatures has risen drastically for the past three decades. Polar ice caps are melting; as a result, sea levels are rising. Scientist predict more extreme weather in the coming decades, in fact, droughts will probably be more common. Also, flooding and tropical temperatures might cause large amounts of methane gases to be released, which could be disastrous for our atmosphere. Climate change may have human causes and also it might be a natural occurrence. Nevertheless, we must find ways to save our planet.

Whenever someone thinks of CO2, they think of global warming. They are reminded of Al Gore and his stance on global warming and they automatically think it is true. He has a lot of evidence to back up his theory about how global warming exists and that it is the reason animals are going extinct and also why the climate is changing. In today’s society commoners are hard pressed from both sides of a raging debate that has encompassed the political landscape of America and much of the world. This raging debate concerns Global Warming or preferably Climate Change. Each side trying to convince the populace one way or the other. On one side the liberal ideology is convinced that the rapid change in the temperature of the earth is caused by extensive human Carbon Dioxide emissions. On the other side, the conservative ideology is certain that the change in the temperature of the earth is due to natural causes and that there is no need to alter the way countries are run in order to compensate for Climate Change. The masses are currently being fed pro global warming ideology. This is primarily due to the current president Barack Obama who is a major pro global warming advocate. Sixty percent of the United States population disagrees with president Obama on his stance on climate change, and there is strong scientific backing for the populace.

Global warming is a phenomenon that has amazed and frightened everyone ever since it came into being. The consequences and end results of global warming is what goes on to alarm and frighten everyone on earth. If looked at it literally, global warming is basically in increase in the temperature of the Earth's atmosphere. Changes in the earth temperatures could be due to anything, but I think that global warming is very real, and it could affect our children and grandchildren. Over the past years, global warming has changed temperatures, usually making them higher than before, and is affecting sea levels while also shifting seasons. These things can be a problem because the world that we know now could alter so dramatically that the earth could very well not be able to be lived on anymore. Things such as that could cause a number of things including extinction of species, increase of fires, droughts, and floods, and even economic losses.

To get an understanding, Global warming is when the earth’s temperatures rise more than average causing drastic weather and climate change. It all began during the industrial era in the early 1800s where fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas became the primary source of energy. Since then many people had soon discovered that fossil fuels have improved their way of life, therefore the use and demand for fuel has been on the rise. In the United States it 's self currently provides more than 85 percent of all the energy consumption – that’s nearly two-thirds of our electricity (Ronnie D. Lankford)! Even though many people argue that these fossil fuels have improved our standards of life, such as providing us with electricity that light up our homes, or fuel that gets our cars running, taking us from point A to B. Yes, these are great luxuries to have but these fossil fuels add carbon dioxide to the Earth 's atmosphere, which is harmful to the environment as well as the well being on this earth (Ronnie D. Lankford). This can then be seen as a problem made by human activity. The questions that are to be explored are; How is global warming caused and the effects? How it can be prevented or stabilized?

It's no surprise to most people that the idea of global warming is a highly controversial and debated topic. But is there any real evidence that global warming is a growing problem or is global warming just a big scare tactic being used to get people to comply with strict government regulations? Global warming is widely believed to be the main cause of rising average global temperatures. In reality, global warming isn't really all what it has been exaggerated to be. Many of the predicted effects of global warming over time have actually been proven to be false all together.
