Every fall, millions of students return to school to learn about math and science, English and history, every weekday until summer finally returns. Year after year, the same fundamental classes return and, time after time, seem to faintly impact the students. Schools have been designed so you learn the same information, slightly more in depth, from kindergarten to senior year. What about topics that would further the student in their future after graduation? Schools emphasize the same core subjects throughout the years, but not the real life obstacles millions of millions of people face. I welcome all of you today to a special ceremony not meant to celebrate and glorify the victory of one person, or even a group of people, but I welcome you to the commencement of a new chapter in a story of a powerful country, a story that will last for centuries to come, a story that proclaims the prestigiousness of this sovereign state. We are gathered here today, not to squabble about in endless exacerbation, but to unify the country under the common goal of progression towards an enlightened and auspicious future.

Everyone is entitled to have the opportunities to succeed in their education, however, not everyone has the privilege to receive a great education from the start. Due to the factors that might interfere or hinder education, such as economic and geographic matters, many programs have been developed in order to help students with their journey throughout college and high school. The Puente Project is one of the many programs that has been around for three decades assisting underrepresented students to further their education. The program believes in the potential of their students, especially when given the right tools and opportunities to achieve academic success.

This is open to applications from graduates with a 2:1 degree or above in an engineering or commercial subject. About 40 graduates will be employed in 2007. About three-quarters of those employed join the engineering programme and the remaining quarter join the commercial and finance programmes. The foundation modules of the programme last 18 months, during which time graduates are provided with three, six-month placements. Two of these are with a future job in mind and the other one is to broaden their perspective and give them more insight into the company. During each placement, graduates have real, on-the-job projects to complete. They also work with a mentor, who provides guidance and support.

That evening, when Edward returned home from college. He quickly ate his lunch and rushed to work as a part-timer in a Pizza Hut restaurant. He works as a waiter and sometimes he works at the front counter. On that evening, Edward was the only worker who came to work. He cleaned a mountain of dishes, he threw all the leftovers on the tables, and he moped the floor after he swept it all by himself. After finished work, he went home and took some rest. Even though, his friends invited him for a movie that night, he did not joined them. He want to, but he could not. Instead, he did his homework that night.

College, whether community, private, public, or vocational, encourages a creativity and belief within students, offering the explanation that their futures increase ten-fold just by having a degree. It proves the ability to learn and connect concepts and to think critically and efficiently, skills highly useful in their careers and endeavors. It instills within students, the truth about the world around them and how interactions with staff and peers will guide them for their future encounters. College means opening doors which would normally be inaccessible for a high school graduate because the learning goes beyond the classroom and allows them to connect their studies with real life application. Students are encouraged to apply their passions and studies to gain skills such as independence, networking, critical thinking, and socialization.

During the past three weeks, I have observed three individual students in my 4th grade classroom. All of the learners in the classroom are very intelligent students; however, three students stand out to me on a daily basis for different reasons. ‘Student A’ receives special education services for her reading and writing skills. She works with a para every day to work on her reading and handwriting skills. ‘Student B’ is a gifted learner and participates in an advanced math program that the 4th and 5th grade classes receive, if they are academically eligible. ‘Student C’ is an average student in the classroom, but struggles on a daily basis due to lack of motivation. He does not receive any services, but is redirected by the cooperating teacher and myself.

1.1) This career episode reviews my experience acquired while I am abroad in Saudi Arabia and my ongoing post graduate studies. From October 2012 to October 2014 I joined National Grid SA (Central Region Projects Department) as a Projects Engineer (Civil). And from November 2014 up to date I joined PROGER Engineering & Management as a Planning & Follow-up Engineer. This episode also spot the light on my ongoing distance learning M.Sc. studies in Heriot Watt University started in September 2014 and expected to finish on May 2017.

Life event experiences directly cause changes in the students’ lifestyles, and consequently, college students’ consumption needs may change (Lee, M., & Mathur., 2001). Graduation is the first momentous event that ever happened to college students. Every enrolled college students will face the role transitions process, which is from a student to an employee, during the graduation period. In other words, job hunting and starting a new career serve as part of the students’ life events. Due to this reason, college students’ shopping adaptations may change due to the experience of graduation and other related life events.

Higher education is an ever-changing and evolving field that comes with its own set of responsibilities ranging from professors teaching about learning methods to the staff that look after student well-being. Since there is such a vast set of responsibilities though comes a fair number of issues and policies to adhere to. With that in mind, the series of documents that were assigned for reading helped to put some things in perspective for me when it comes to this field. The documents that we had looked at were the 2014 Strategic Plan for Southeast Missouri State University (Southeast or SEMO), “Top 10 Higher Education State Policy Issues for 2012” by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), a list of the fifteen roles of higher education that the class had decided on, and a .pdf of flow charts created, one from each student, using the aforementioned roles. These documents were interesting to read and I believe that each of them helped me to find a new outlook on what it is that I want to do in this field.

When considering to take a job before or instead of going to college you should think of the almost 40 thousand dollar per year pay difference that a college graduate and a high school drop out have. When you join the workforce right out of high school or instead of high school you essentially cut off any of the connections you can make through college because not only is college a source of knowledge is a source of connections. Throughout college you have experiences and classes that prepare you for the rest of your life and the career path you want to follow this is something major you might miss out on if you go straight into the workforce. Not only do you miss out on all of these experiences and connections education is a major part of everyones it effects who we are and it is something we continue to experience even after college. With all of this being said I believe that no matter what you are going to be better off in life if you focus on your education and finding yourself before entering the workforce full force.

Engineering has always been an essential pillar for industrial and technical development. Engineering is what keeps our people moving and up-to-date with technology. It is a satisfying career, both financially and mentally. The objective of this assignment is to interview a practicing Engineer who has worked or is working in the area of project management. This assignment provides a glance for future engineers into the daily routine of a professional and experienced Engineer, and the approach he/she pursued in order to arrive at the position they presently occupy.

This report documents work experience gained in Wireless Nation Limited as part of the work experience requirements of the Bachelor of Engineering Technology Degree which is being required at Auckland University of Technology in Auckland, New Zealand. The work experience report covers a period of employment from September 2013 until June 2015.
