Planes are very helpful and instrumental in the time we live in. Wilbur and Orville Wright fell in love with the idea of flight through watching birds soar through the air. While the Wright brothers wanted to glide in the sky, they had no idea what the future of the airplane would look like. From the time that they designed and began taking test flights in 1903, their airplane became transformed. As a society we have become dependent on the modern day aircraft. Whether for travel, deliveries, or for use during war, the airplane is an amazing invention that has changed our world. Once the Wright brothers took their first flight, the airplane began changing rapidly. In 1915 the United States started making fighter planes to use in WWI. The plane quickly changed the face of war. Airplanes were now able to take pictures of the enemies land, attack without using ground troops, and support the needed ground troops in a new way. Today the Air Force uses planes for their speed, cargo capacity, support to countries in need, and for possible bomb drops. Bombers, attack aircraft, and fighters are what make up the Air Force. Times were advancing and passengers were now able to travel world wide with little expense and in less time. Today, instead of four plus days, you are able to travel from New York to London in seven hours. On average there are 93,000 flights each day.
