Organizational structure indicates the company's formal reporting relationships, procedures, controls and authority, & decisions making process. An organisation's strategy is its plan for the whole business that sets out how the organisation will use its major resources. An organisation's structure is the way the pieces of the business fit together internally. It also covers the links with external factors such as partners and other parties. According to Mantere (2013) organizational strategy exhibits a division of linguistic labour, where responsibility for key concepts is assigned to particular individuals or organizational functions. Such linguistic experts oversee the proper use and maintenance of strategy language. The language-based view helps to understand linkages between institutional, network, organizational, and micro level views on strategy. It also problematizes widely held intuitions regarding the relationship between strategy and organizational outcomes. When both of them are executed well an organization will achieve best possible outcome. In business, the Structure follows strategy, which means that a corporate structure is created in order to implement a given corporate strategy. I work closely with other employees and Partner of the firm. All questions raised by employees on the files regarding the accounting and tax are answered by myself. As the Ground Station software lead for the Triton Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) program, I recognized that the review of software Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) items was tying up valuable resources and incurring additional costs. Multiple review cycles were no value added to the program. Contractor preparation cost for each submission was almost $15,000 so reducing the number of review cycles was a cost savings goal. My ten person review team was responsible for the review of over 30 CDRLs. The team reviewed and provided comments for each submission. The contractor team would then provide a formal resubmission in response. My team would disagree with the response so the process would start again. This process needed improvement to save both time and money.
