This can be communicated to the public as not being 100% Canadian. Recently with being the official sponsor for the Olympic Games in 2014, it questions the authenticity of the material being worn as ‘Canadian quality’. Also with the CEO of HBC “Richard A. Baker, he grew up in Moneyed Greenwich, Conn.,” (The Business of Fashion, 2016), being from the United States undermines the position of the company as being an international corporation rather than Canadian Landmark. Hudson’s bay is said to become one of the leading operator of department stores globally if it takes over Macy’s. As of now, Macy’s is a struggling department store that has started to shut down approximately 100 stores in order to cut costs and become profitable.
