Immigration has always been a complex issue in the United States. Previous and current administrations have had great difficulties in setting policies and programs in place to address this problem. During the course of American history, laws were enacted to address such issues. There were numerous legislative milestones in regards to immigration in the United States. In order to understand the current issues regarding immigration, we have to look back at the policies that were in place along with the goals that they intended to serve. The United States has been the land of opportunity for immigrants. It is a place where immigrants from all over the world come to build a better dream and future for their families and leave from poverty, they come with nothing but determination. One thing that every immigrant brings with them is their culture. A person's culture is strongly tied to the country where they grew up. It is tied to their relationship with their family. Many people come to America from so many different places all over the world. For this reason, people call America a melting pot of cultures immigrants are striving for a better future even though when they migrate to the USA they don’t know the consequences they will face and struggle to be successful living in the United States.

The increasing fear of crime and terrorism in the world is persuading many Americans that the country should close its door. But what about the fact that this country itself was founded by the immigrants? American journey of success would have not been possible without the generations of immigrants who have come to its shores from every corner of the world. I believe immigrants are a positive influence on America because they strengthen the country’s economy, allow people of America to learn about different cultures, languages and ideas, and shapes how the world views America.

It 's a person that crosses the border illegally and that isn 't allowed to be part of the unites states unless they have permission to be here with a Visa. Society has given these people so many racial labels that 's beyond hurtful names they 're referred as wetbacks, Alien, and illegally immigrant, but what 's the right way to call these people without referring to them with all these racial characteristic and names that society has given them over the years. Society shouldn 't be labeling someone with racial names no human is an illegally. Yes, many of these people have come to the united states illegally. On a daily basis, these people have crossed the united states border illegally. During that process, they put their lives in danger by crossing rivers, walking dessert, underground tunnels etc.The reason why these people and families come to the united states. Is because they are trying to improve their economic situation, to have a better future for their children, and to escape corruption and violence from their country.

Immigrants are basic facts of a strong U.S. economy, fulfilling the intrinsic need of the labor force for workers. We as immigrants have more of a tendency of working for our money to survive and to make our children have a better life, in a tough economy and in a country that isn’t even ours. How can immigration and immigrants life overcome? What difference can we do to fix the immigration dilemma occurring in the United States? This are some questions that many people may have asked someday. Immigration is a huge dilemma in the United States and we want to make a difference. This subject relates to me because as my parents, I am also an immigrant. We all want to make a difference in this world but why don’t we start by finding answers to help people who are immigrants? It is estimated that around $94 Billion dollars are spent on deporting immigrants. The government is spending an exorbitant amount of money, instead, that money could be better spent on other purposes, such as health plans for everyone or help the society build more shelters and livings for the amount of homeless that there are. Not only in the United States but in other countries in the world.

The United States is one big melting pot of different kinds of people and this is what makes the United States so unique. Our ancestors at some point or another came over from a different country to start a new life for many different reasons, such as a better job opportunities and better quality of life. Many of us forget this to be true since our ancestors have lived in here for generation after generation. However, not everyone is as lucky as we are to be able to call themselves citizens of the United States. We still have many immigrants entering the United States to start a new and better life but this can create problems for the legal citizens when they do so illegally.

Immigration is a highly controversial and big problem in the United States today. “While some characterize our immigration crisis as solely an issue of the 11 to 12 million unauthorized immigrants living in this country, our problems extend beyond the number of undocumented people to a broader range of issues. The lack of a comprehensive federal solution has created a slew of lopsided, enforcement-only initiatives that have cost the country billions of dollars while failing to end unauthorized immigration.” The bigger issue with immigration is that we do not have a system in place to stop it on all the levels federal, state, and local the only system we have is when we find them we deport them which ends up costing billions of dollars.

The opinion of many people today, immigration is what has made America. People who immigrate to a new country ace a number of challenging situations and problems in the new community where they live. The problems can be economic, societal and or cultural. There would be no America if not for immigration is what has made America because most of the people in this country are immigrants and from different parts in the world. Countries such as China, Germany, Japan and many others have contributed to the population the United States. Even the oldest populations, the Native Americans from other country. However, some of our neighbors to from South Mexico, many undocumented illegal, flocked to America illegally as a consequence of bad economics and poor living conditions, many Mexican Americans have chosen to come to live in the United States illegally. Those Mexican Americans made the choice because they anticipate freedom and an opportunity for a better life here in the United States of American. Unfortunately some illegal immigrants have paid the price of death, instead of getting their freedom. This has become a growing problem in the United States. Therefore, immigration is good but in this respect, economic, immigrants and society culture can effect on the country population and economy.

Immigration in the United States continues to increase rapidly year by year. According to an analysis of monthly Census Bureau data by the Center for Immigration Studies, the immigration population in the United States, both legal and illegal, hit a record of 42.1 million in the second quarter of this year, an increase of 1.7 million since the same quarter of 2014 (CIS.org). Clearly, Immigrants make up a large part of the population in the United States, and for most immigrants, migrating to the United States contains one main purpose: to pursue a better life with more opportunities, a purpose also known as “the American Dream”. The concept of immigration is embodied with different viewpoints that can be based on facts or subjective reasoning, but overall, the viewpoints on immigration are narrowed down to two general perspectives. For some Americans, Immigration, especially illegal immigration, impacts the United States in a negative way. People with this perspective argue that immigration has a negative impact on the country’s security, economy, education, and public health. On the other hand, supporters of the presence of immigrants in the country suggest that immigrants contribute to the well-being and development of the country. Supporters of immigration argue that immigrants help boost the economy of the United States rather than hurting it, and believe that the moral thing to do is to give people the opportunity to better themselves in a country filled with the

Then, immigrants must fill out the official naturalization application called the N400 form. Within this form, there are several questions asking about the immigrant’s life, family, employment, and criminal background. After completion, immigrants must send in the N400 form with a passport and application fee. Next, the immigrant has to have his or her fingerprints taken and participate in an interview.

Immigration has been around since the early 20th century. Right now there are more than 11 million immigrants living in the United States. They come from all over the world but a lot of people think they all come from Central America or South America. They come to the United States looking for a better life than what they had back home. Most of them either come alone or they bring their families with them. If they are closer to the border, they might even try to cross the border illegally. They come through a coyote, a guy who helps them sneak in, and they have to cross a hot dessert. Not everyone survives the trip and most of them might even get caught and get deported back to their countries. Some of them come to the United States with a visitor visa and they just over stay their visa. Most people do not want illegal immigration in the United States and actually most of them do not want immigrants even if they come legally. They say that immigrants take jobs, government money, and they are criminals. What they really don’t know is what immigrants really do to help the economy, why they even come to the United Sates in the first place, and what deportation does to immigrants and the United States.

The United States of America is often known as a melting pot due to the variety of cultures and immigrants that reside here. Even though immigrants account for approximately “…13 percent of the total U.S. population of 316.1 million” (Zong and Batalova), they are not always welcomed. Immigration has been an issue in the United States since it was first established. Most natives to the United States take issue with this many immigrants because they fear that immigrants drain resources, or they believe that there are too many people in the country already or that more immigrants will cause them to be uncomfortably overcrowded. My current event is on immigration and refugees, and how they are mistreated in our society. Immigrants have been the backbone of what made America great. This country is supposed to be the land of opportunity. For the people that come here it is all that they hear. Wanting a fresh start from whatever country they came from. The NASW (2015) said that “Immigration has increased rapidly in the 1990s, with more than 13 million people moved to the United States” (p.176). Immigrants and refugees is an issue talked about for so many years. “In 1965 the Immigration and Nationality Act Amendments provided a sweeping change in immigration law. The national origins system was abolished and a new set of priorities for admitting immigrants was adopted” (NASW, 2015, p. 176). Immigration has been a part of our culture, American society, and policy making for a long time now. It is talked about today even during our Presidential campaign for 2016.

In 2016, only 55.5% of American voters turned out to vote in the 2016 election between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. (Voter Turnout in the United States Presidential Elections.) The fact that these statistics are only based on American voters makes many people wonder how much of an impact it would make if immigrants voted as well. But here is the catch: immigrants cannot vote at all in the United States unless they are actual citizens of the United States, and this is one of the problems Project I is looking to fix. Project I is a government funded project that is targeting the education and housing of immigrant women and children. The focus on women and children has to do with the fact that it is harder for women, specifically single mothers

Today, the United States of America may also called as immigrant country. The country of many different immigrants around the world who gathered with hopes and dreams. There were two differences groups of immigrants that came to the United States, in the early years. One as referring to "Old" immigrant and another as “New" immigrant (Delorezo).
