Impact Of Nazism

Decent Essays

Evaluate the impact of Nazism in Germany on at least one minority group throughout the 1930’s.

Joseph Goebbels on Jews: “As socialists, we are opponents of the Jews, because we see in the Hebrews the incarnation of capitalism, of the misuse of the nation's goods.” Nazism is the principles associated with the Socialist German Workers party or, the Nazi party, and these principles became increasingly important with the party being handed control of Germany in 1933. Hitler, Germany’s dictator at the time demanded that racial purity be an important aspect for Germany, as he believed when his country and their people were to rule over the world, they should look the best. For Hitler and the rest of the party, the goal was to create a ‘Germanic race’, comprised of Aryan individuals who were to be tall, blond and have blue eyes, other races of people were either exterminated straight away or dealt with over a period of time so that they would not reproduce, three of these races were gypsies, nomadic individuals also known as ‘Roma’, who looked at Germany as a temporary home during the 1930’s, homosexuals to whom Hitler had despised for a long time after the betrayal of his right hand man Ernst Rohm, and black Germans, to whom Hitler and the Nazi party had long been antagonistic towards purely on the basis of their skin colour. Nazism, to which took affect in Germany throughout the 1930’s had a significant impact on minority groups such as Gypsies, Homosexuals and Afro-Germans.
