Is College Really Worth the Trouble?

For years adults have been questioning whether or not college is worth its cost. Over time the price for college has increased drastically and the potential income of a college graduate is barely following that trend. As colleges become more wealthy and powerful, they’re too pricy for someone to afford without help and debt.

“You don’t have to be a genius or a visionary or even a college graduate to be successful. You just need a framework and a dream” (Michael Dell).College education prices are not worth it. College does not land you a good paying job, you end up in deep debt, and it is not worth it for low-income families. College prices are not worth it. Why, because of the rises cost of tuition and the lack of public school preparation.

The financial aspect of going to college can weigh on someone very much. Sometimes, to the point that some choose not to go to college for fear of cost alone. Not to mention the cost of books and other class required material.

Is college worth it? This one question turns into this debate high school seniors begin to think about before graduating. In our society you cannot really say no to college education because many make it known as a necessity to be successful in life. Many of our parents have raised us to know that college is a must go and that there are no failures. However some may think different. A lot of people may think that not setting a foot in a university or community college does not make them successful and that they will do just fine without a degree towards a career. We all know once someone graduates they are not always guaranteed a successful life with well-paid career and awesome benefits for you and your family. There are different views from both sides of this debate.

Now our world has doctors, pilots, engineers, scientist and much more that people are not seeing. The life cycle of humans is amazing where we lose another and get even smarter and betters. In this cycle, many have not have gotten an opportunity to show the talent because of college tuitions rising every year. There have been different college grants and some help on college fee if you are under poverty level. Education should not be compared with the price, we can buy a nice dress with a good price but we cannot buy an education at a price

A lot of people will argue, that college is too expensive. Not everyone can go to college, for financial reasons. Also, they may get into college, but end up having to leave because they cannot afford the remaining balances; or, they received financial aid, but end up having to take out loans they are going to be paying back forever. It is like once they graduate they will be working mostly to pay off their student loan debt. This also discourages some students. In some cases, they will not even take the initiative to try because it is so costly. I do not understand why it cost so much to want to better yourself, and possibly put us in debt for the rest of our life just to receive a higher education. Not only has the cost of college risen over a period of time, but it continues to go up. Yes, they have alternatives for paying student debts, but what if you do not qualify? Lastly, you are not guaranteed a job just because you graduate and have a college degree(s).

The cost for college tuition has skyrocketed, leaving people with no way to afford a degree or scraping to pay back what they already owe. College is more expensive now than it has ever been, making it harder and harder for people to get ahead. College isn’t the only thing leading to this though, jobs are scarce, even if you did make it through college, there isn’t a guaranteed job out there for you unless you arranged it prior to graduating, which makes it even harder to pay back money you owe. Some people believe that college is too valuable to complain about the cost because, in the long run, it will enable you to find a job that will provide for your needs in future times. Gone are the days when higher education was for all. The only limitation back then was one’s will to pursue their dream course. In present times things have changed.

This is a classic example of a catch 22. A person needs an education to have money, but a person cannot make money without an education. This is what contributes to the unequal distribution of wealth that is allowing poverty to be a problem in the lives of millions of Americans. If everyone was given the right to a college education, America could finally start to live up to its full potential and end poverty and hunger.

Though it is true that college graduates tend to have higher salaries and better life skills, the remedial classes, excessive debt, and potentially outdated degrees is not worth the required attendance of all students. It is possible to be successful without a college degree. Sending every student to college would not necessarily mean a better life for all who

To most people college is their goal at succeeding in life. Whether you get a scholarship or pay yourself, college is expensive.
