As American citizens, we should know what happened with the assassination of John F. Kennedy. The question is, was the assassination of John F. Kennedy unjust or just. John F. Kennedy was the president of the United States in the early 1960’s. On the day of the 22nd of November, 1963 at 12:30, John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas by Lee Harvey Oswald. Oswald was said to be a communist and he did not agree with the presidency of John F. Kennedy. The assassination of John F. Kennedy was unjust because he worked to end segregation and he help send a person to the moon; however some people think that JFK was wrong for ordering the Bay of Pigs.
One reason why John F. Kennedy’s assassination was unjust is because he worked to end segregation. Kennedy wanted to make America a peaceful place for African Americans in the 1960’s. According to John F. Kennedy “During the 1960 election, Kennedy had promised to do more to help African Americans. Yet once in office, he saw that many Americans and lawmakers did not want much change when it came to civil rights laws. At first he took only small steps to help blacks. One was to have government agencies try to hire more African Americans ” (Burgan 37). When tensions grew high between white Americans and black Americans, Kennedy would come in and resolve issues. Also in the south John F. Kennedy gave Africans Americans in Birmingham more rights because violence were heavy.
