Where Do I Turn for Help?
1. In the state of Oklahoma we know how important it is to have the appropriate resources available to you for early childhood intervention so they can maintain a healthy learning, living and social environment. There will be a meeting set up to discuss the concerns and leads as to where you should go from there. Remember that this is your child first and foremost; we just want to help in the process.
Services Available
3. With SoonerStart there are several services available. We offer Speech Therapy-which will help with communicating with others. Psychical Therapy- which will help improve overall psychical strength and ability and improve large motor skills. Occupational Therapy- which will help with social interacting, and fine motor skills. As well as Developmental Therapy- this will improve the overall ability to be at age level in all areas of learning. We will work with you and your child as many times in a month that is allotted. We also offer other resources that will help place you and your child on the right path a few weeks before our services end. With the public school system here in Oklahoma we also offer these services as a pull out system which will allow your child the extra time needed to work on certain developmental areas while school is in session. These are more limited and the child has guidelines they have to meet before services could be extended. However, if these are not available there are many therapeutic offices that we will refer out to and get you with to continue on with intervention.

1.1 Explain the importance of a holistic approach to assessment and planning of care or support.
2. Working according to the agreed ways means following the organisation’s policy and procedures in relation to pressure areas. It also means following the individual care plans and respecting the instructions in place. For example making sure a resident is turned every two hours, applying Cavilon cream on areas; fill in turning charts, prompt fluid intake. Under the duty of care a care assistant must always be aware of and raise concerns regarding possible pressure areas. Always record information in care plans accurately and in confidentiality.
“All the cells take in and use nutrients and other substances from their surroundings. Cells of the intestine and the kidney are specialized to carry out absorption. Cells of the kidney tubules reabsorb fluids and synthesize proteins. Intestinal epithelial cells reabsorb fluids and synthesize protein enzymes” (McCance & Huether, pg. 2).

In September of 2012, beginning in the country of Saudi Arabia, hospitals began seeing increased cases of a respiratory virus never before seen in humans. They named it Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, or MERS. MERS is a viral respiratory illness caused by the coronavirus. It was originally thought to have started there in Saudi Arabia. It was not until later that they were able to trace the origin back to Jordan starting in April of 2012. All outbreaks of MERS have been traced back to originating from the Arabian Peninsula (CDC, 2015a). Unfortunately, it is not known exactly how MERS was contracted in humans, but it is believed to have come from an animal source, probably from camels. Strains of MERS
