Kudler Fine Foods has decided to upgrade the cash registers in three stores. The new registers are scheduled for installation in six weeks, and various members of the cashier, management team and computer support specialists will require training on the proper use of the new equipment. Five methods are under review for training implementation; oral presentation, written report, video, e-mail, and website training. This paper will focus on the training mediums available and determine the merit of each medium based on cost, effect, message, audience, purpose, and reach.

436). Written reports are an excellent channel to convey detailed information. The purpose for the communication at Kudler Fine Foods is to train cashiers on how to use the new NCR cash registers. At a minimum the communication need is for instructions and hands-on practice using the new cash register. Written instructions and training manuals are good reference materials to compliment hands-on training. A written report is not an instructional tool, therefore; a written report would not adequately serve the purpose for training the cashiers to use the new cash registers.
Video
Video presentations will be presented from the vendor of the NCR RealPOS 30 terminals. The video presentations will examine the use of the terminals and separate video presentations should be available for the cashiers, the management team, and the computer support specialists. The video presentations should cover hands-on use of the terminals depending on the employee and the employees need. The cost of the video presentations should be minor as they should be available from the vendor. The purpose of the video presentations will be hands-on use so that each employee gains a clear understanding of the terminal. The video presentations should be viewed prior to the oral presentations to expedite the oral presentations. The purpose of the video presentations is to

Training at Dollar Tree Inc. is virtually non-existent. The orientation is an hour at most and morale is very low. The mission statement is only mentioned at orientation. Due to the fact that the position of a cashier is considered to be very simple, the emphasis on training is very little. First impressions set the tone for what type of performance the new-hire will choose to perform. Lawson (2015) encourages to have a thoughtfully planned and delivered program to set the tone and ignite the employee’s excitement and
Outcomes are the changes, benefits, learning or other effects that happen as a result of your work (Cupitt and Ellis, 2016). Most importantly, outcomes allow your work to be more effective. This includes identifying what works well and what are the changes for improving the task. Ultimately this aids in using efficiently in order to satisfy consumers’ needs and wants (Cupitt and Ellis, 2016). On the other hand, evaluate means to measure results or outcomes (Endvawnow.org, 2012). For this section the team will be conducting an evaluation of the original management plan as well as the approved changes of the project.

Kudler Fine Foods wishes to develop a system to track customer purchases through a Frequent Shopper Program to award loyalty points for redemption. The objective of this project request is to track purchases of individual customers, which will accumulate as loyalty points for redemption (Apollo Group, 2011). Customers will have the ability to redeem loyalty points for gift items, specialty foods, and other products or services as made available (Apollo Group, 2011).
Kudler Fine is evaluating their current network and creating a logical design document that will show what needs to be done to upgrade or install a new network system to meet the goals set out to achieve. The list of goals presented by Kudler management is as follows:
There are many considerations that Kudler Fine Foods at La Jolla, Del Mar, and Encinitas must make in order to incorporate a Frequent Shopper Program at all of the locations. The areas of concern will be in decisions of software design, hardware and network(s), and human computer interfaces. The Frequent Shopper Program requires a simple process to make an easy transition to the program. Too intricate of process will cause a hardship to this new program.

Training in the retail industry is very important and will be the starting point for every single individual who works for our company to understand how they are representing the company. It will also give new hires a chance to learn more about the company history and what makes the company a unique one to work for. There are several ways that new hires should be trained when working in retail customer service including: presentation, case study, role play, modeling and on the job training. All of these trainings include a way to train individuals who learn differently, such as auditory, visual and kinetic. This is the best way to train new hires if there are a large group of individuals so that everyone is able to learn the information and apply it. This eliminates any way for a new hire in the retail industry to not understand the material.
Madeleine Thien’s “Simple Recipes” is a short story that depicts an immigrated family facing problems of cultural preservation; “Hills like White Elephants” by Ernest Hemingway portrays a couple facing difficulties in decision-making about their unplanned pregnancy. Despite the difference in plots and themes respectively, both stories discuss about relationships are being put at stake as a result of different factors emerge in the plot. In the two stories, competing values, problems with communication and lack of understanding between two people emerge as elements that can ruin a relationship. Therefore, the two stories reveal that selfishness is the initial and eventual cause for broken relationships.
Food Inc. opens in an American supermarket and draws attention to the unnatural nature of year-round tomatoes and boneless meat. It pulls aside the curtain that is concealing the truth about food from the consumer. After the brief intro, the movie shifts its focus to the topic of fast food and its impact on the meat industries. Fast food virtually started with McDonald’s. When they decided to simplify their menu and hire employees that repeated one task over and over for minimum wage, the result was the fast food phenomenon that swept the United States, and then the world. Today, McDonald’s is the largest purchaser of beef and potatoes in the United States, and is one of the largest purchasers of pork, chicken, tomatoes, and apples. Though
It is time for lunch or maybe even dinner and one has no idea what to eat. After looking through take out menus and reading restaurant reviews everyone decided on one place, Applebee’s. Here comes the next hard decision which is what to eat. If you are like me then you already know what you are going to eat before you even get there. Now on the other hand if you are like a lot of others, you get to the restaurant and have to sit there for another twenty minutes before finally deciding on something. The waitress offers the special and asks what everyone would like to drink. Well at least you know the answer to that question.
Best Foods Company is a multinational worldwide food company whose vision is “To be the Best International Food Company in the World.” (p.713) Best Foods set out to make some serious strides in diversifying their organization. However, there were three key diversity challenges facing them. First is that the company has very few women who have been on the career path that leads them to executive level position. This unfortunately was due to past practices. Best Foods top 150 senior managers were mostly made up of older males predominately white. At the time that Best Foods sought to change there was only one women and she was a general manager. With the lack of skill level and job experience one of the first
Another area in which the direct instruction approach would be necessary is in a company budget meeting. The use of PowerPoint to display statistics to managers is an effective means to reflect sales numbers or profit and loss; PowerPoint is a tool often used in direct instructional approach (Evans, 2006). Printed materials and digital projectors may also be effective in this scenario. These various direct instruction tools assist in the learning process by providing managers with visual aids of an assortment of functions (Evans, 2006).
According to the statistics, a part of the employees are not highly skilled to take their position. It is necessary to provide training to improve professional service, especially to get more familiar with the shelves and products they sold in the store. After new recruitment, employees should undertake a series of training programs strictly to get enough skills betterserving the customers. Besides, the 7-eleven could hold interesting games for employees to get more familiar with the products, such as competition of finding the exact items.
