Introduction Leadership is commonly defined as an act of leading an organization or a group of people for some cause or purpose. In every field of life, reflection of leadership is evident, whether it’s an organizational environment or some other social setting (Stewart, 2010). Humans live and work together to progress, and in this respect, one of the individuals has to take the lead and drive others too towards achieving success (Lintz, 2003). Similarly, the film and media also play a role in teaching the general public about how leadership is important and exercised in a setting. That being said, this purpose is aimed at presenting a leadership in film reflection through highlighting different leadership and cinematic themes. The reflection will primarily develop appreciation of the film through leadership in action. In this respect, the paper will talk about distinguishing the artistic means of music, imagery, costume, and historical footage etc. The paper will also talk about how the direction has used these elements to signify leadership bias and other issues. The movie “Twelve O’ Clock High” is a case study in the application of leadership theory during World War Two. The movie 12 O’clock High was filmed and produced in 1949 directly after World War Two. This was a critical moment in American history simply because this was the first time that America was the greatest power globally. Due to this rise in international responsibility from power, patriotism soared in the United States. Culturally films like 12 O’clock High were produced highlighting important roles that were played in the defeat of the Axis powers during World War Two. On a more extensive note, the film displays what leadership influence tactics can be used to drastically turn a unit around during a time of war. This unit, part of the American Army Air Force, is known as the 918th Bomber Group located in England, during the year of 1942. At the beginning of the film, Col. Davenport was the Air Commanding Officer with Lt. Col. Gately as the Air Executive Officer. However, General Savage had to step in and relieve Col. Davenport of command after several major battle losses cause morale to fall to an all-time low. Additionally, Lt. Col. Gately is also relieved of command as Air Executive Officer and placed as an aircraft commander due to his inability to fly missions and be a part of the “team effort”. This is the major turning point in the movie as from this point forward the 918th Bomber Group eventually becomes a brutal fighting force with the help Major Stovall who is the administrator for the Air Commanding Officer. The following work aims to take a closer look at cultures, leadership and paradigms in Columbia Pictures’ (1992) film; A Few Good Men. This film provides many examples of differing cultures as well as illustrating examples of leadership, management, and followership. Traditionally, analysis on roles for effective leadership surround corporate or military settings with clearly defined problems, discernable issues, and areas where hypothesis can be made, models formed, predictions tested, and outcomes verified. The film Seabiscuit chronicles the lives of individuals as they become intertwined to produce an outcome, training a horse to race. At what point do individuals stop seeing themselves, in their daily lives, as individuals and begin seeing themselves as members of groups having to take on leadership and

Hal Moore that exhibit those rare qualities of what a leader should be. In this essay I will describe some of the leadership qualities that are displayed in the movie We Were Soldiers. The 1989 movie “Glory” shows the true meaning of leadership and sacrifices that need to be made within a group of people in order to show what team work is really about. During the film many tensions were high specially because it happened during the time of The American Civil War and people of colored were being allowed to join and become soldiers. In the movie everyone had the opportunity to meet one another and sent down the rules and regulations that needed to be followed in order for everyone to succeed together. However, there are certain characters that will be closely looked at in order to understand their behavior, the type of leaders that they are, and the way they handle things in a certain way.

However, the varying characteristics of individuals that the Army attracts may instill this doctrine in many different ways, leading to different representations of leadership. Some individuals choose to lead their subordinate in a stern matter, only displaying matured emotions and a “tough-loving” attitude to guide them in the right direction. Others
