Life After Death: When Hardship Confronts Forever
A soft hand of a patient slithers through a field of IV’s and other medical tubing until it finally reaches it’s destination - my hand. With prolonged tenderness, a thumb caressed my hand, making small circles in a caring manner as an expression of human empathy. As her cracked lips pivoted skyward, she closed her eyes and returned to her placid state where she thought of her son, and how much time she would have left with him. The only thing that comforted her in this moment were the words we shared. She was a young mother with cancer, and the pain she was going through was palpable.
“Do you wish to go through with this” I said.
“Yes, I do. It is for the better” Saraya replied. A look of profound sadness had swept over her face. We both knew this was inevitable. Her son would live his life without a mother at his side. A cascade of warmth flowed down both our faces.
Josiah could only look at his mother with a gaze of unsurmountable grief. “Why did God let you have cancer, why didn't he prevent this?”
“My son, I know it is hard.” Saraya paused trying to catch her breathe. “You must know that God is good, and everything he has created is good.”
“But you’re in so much pain! I’ll be all alone! Why does this have to happen! How is this even good!” Josiah screamed.
“Josiah, all these moments will be lost in time like tears in rain” Saraya replied softly. “I don’t have the answers that will make everything all better, but know that
“I...I don’t know. Sometimes I wish dad would just come back. And other times I wish he was never alive. He left us, to suffer with an alcoholic mother, while he’s probably living a good life with another wife who’s 20 years younger than him.” I rolled up my sleeve, tracing the scars on my wrist. We stared at the passing cars, hoping one of those was mom’s.
“I known this is a tough time, Charles, but we have to stay positive,” Mother said.
I took his arm, hoping to offer a certain amount of consolation. “No, son, it’s not right,” I replied. Scout, followed behind, lost in her thoughts as we walked home. Upon arriving at the house, Alexandra greeted us at the door.
Finding pleasure in talking about his incredible life with Helen and their children, he became emotional. ”My Helen was the most gorgeous woman in the world, but why did she leave me like that?” He asked, as tears filled his eyes.
“Thank you my Lord,” the man expressed. “My mother would’ve never survive from the heartache of losing another child, especially one as special as her.”
There I was, moments ago, on my deathbed at twenty years old moments ago and now here . Too soon to go some would say and it looks as though some greater deity agrees, because here I am waking up in the bed I slept in when I was five, i looked around for any hints to what was happening and saw a scroll with my name written in calligraphy.'Ruby,' it said, 'as you may see you are not in Heaven or Hell. We feel as though you had gotten on the wrong path by one minor mistake. You were supposed to sit with your neighbor, Leon, your first day on the bus, but your bus driver changed the seating arrangements too late for us to notice. That was a mistake on our part, you see when humans are born they get assigned a group of our people to help guide
For millennia, humanity has been plagued by the issues surrounding life after death because the only way of truly knowing what happens is to actually experience it, by dying. This means that we can only theorise possible outcomes and discuss key issues such as personal identity or immortality of the soul. Theories about life after death are all interested in whether or not there is a part of the human body which survives the death of all the physical parts and where or when it goes.
Bereavement is an issue that affects families all across the world. It is often hard for parents and families to comfort bereaved children as they are grieving too. Grieving parents many times ‘‘feel like they are losing their minds” (Dickens). But if parents are actively involved in helping their child’s healing process then children can learn coping flexibility and resilience and can deal with their grief in healthy ways. However numerous parents are “too emotionally wrought to comprehend the grief of their remaining children (Dickens). They, as well as other family members, experience symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and complicated Greif as they struggle to cope with the loss of their parent, spouse or child.
On the morning of May 5th my views, my ideology, and my life changed dramatically. It was an expected loss yet caused me to realize just how much things in life mean, even the smallest things. After getting out of the shower and dressed for school I had time to spare so I decided to make sure everything was ready and eat some breakfast. I turned to look at my phone, after deciding to turn it on, and all I saw was a list of text messages from my mother. I normally don’t get that many texts, that early. I knew something bad must have happened. I unlocked my phone and began to read the messages. My great grandma had died; an influential person for me and my family. She died after being on hospice for 5 brutal days. Images flashed across my mind: her and I playing cards, her teaching me to cook, and her lessons, forever engraved into my soul.
She stared intently into his eyes. “You must not cry. Where I go, you cannot follow. Not yet. Your time is not yet complete here.”
“He was on his way home last night when another car had crossed the median and caused a head-on collision with Jaron. When the paramedics got there, he..he hadn’t made it. The paramedics knew how to save a life but didn't make it there in time to save his,” she said while trying to hold her tears
“My mom wanted the best for me, but life was so hard for her. When she left, I had
This passage of scripture focuses on the importance of the afterlife and what happens after we die our physical death. Understanding this passage is crucial because it lays the foundation and base word for the Christian faith. Understanding scripture is important in general because it is the word of God and it is his message to us, our earthly duty as Christians is to share it and spread the gospel to those who have not had exposure to it or have no access to it. It is God’s instructions for us. The thesis that sums up this passage is, all of those who are followers of sin will suffer in the second death but those who are followers of Christ will be given a place on the new heaven and earth because we were all made new through the first harvest which was Jesus dying on the cross for our sin. The passage of scripture mainly about the physical and spiritual death of humans and how it can be prevented.

Life After Death All of the major religions believe in life after death. However the ideas from religion to religion can vary greatly. I am going to look at Hinduism and Christianity, two religions that I have been surrounded by all my life, and the different perceptions they have of life after death, and then I will give my own view. "For certain is death for the born and certain is birth for the dead; therefore, over the inevitable thou shouldst not grieve.
