Perrault, Cannon, and McCarthy (2009) defined marketing as "the performance of activities that seek to accomplish an organization’s objectives by anticipating customer or client needs and directing a flow of need satisfying goods and services from producer to customer or client" (p. 6). This is my fourth semester attending Lamar Institute of Technology. The thing that seemed to be most difficult was that most students are not offered outside opinions on teachers and the classes offered. It seems like a challenge due to the fact that as students he or she does not know what he or she are getting into.

For this assignment, I interviewed my friend, saeda, a married mother of two children and a 1st generation immigrant. She is a licensed practical nurse who makes about $3000 a month. She currently does not have any savings but thinks about ways to save for the future. My friend recognizes that she has a spending problem; she has attempted to free her from this never-ending cycle of spending numerous times but failed in the processes. She experiences an internal happiness when she buys things even if she does not need them. Every week she receives a direct deposit through her work, which makes it easier for her to spend her money as soon as the funds become available. We all know that a company that can build trust and bring about a rewarding atmosphere of personal appreciation and contribution will develop workplace norms and behaviors that bring outstanding performance from its personnel. Of the companies on our list the ones chose to research were CHG Healthcare, Wegmans Food Markets and Google. All three of these organizations caught my attention for number reasons, but what got my attention the most and really made me choose them was how they value their employee’s and strive to satisfy their needs. I am originally from California I spent more than 15 years of my life there and I still have family living that lives there now. I have lived in a few states Montana, Texas, Utah and Washington of course.

I selected the Louisville Cardinals’ to discus this week for my week two assignment. This was Louisville’s fourth conference change since 1996.Louisville join the Conference U.S.A that year and was not welcome by its other conference colleagues, because the men’s basketball team was on probation by the NCAA. The Louisville program was also apart of a 60 minutes investigation, their home football games were being played in a minor league baseball stadium and their school has some serious Title IX issues according to Murphy, B (2014, July 1). Despite all of the surrounding issues Louisville went on to become successful on the field and basketball courts, they join the Big East conference and made their brand very attractive.

When I first took the test to see what I scored, I was surprised with many of my results.

This week’s assignment started by directing us to complete a self-assessment, which I felt was a well laid out chart with established skills and a level in which to rate yourself from 1 being poor up to 5 being good. I think it was a good exercise, giving us a better insight to our strengths and weaknesses. I do in fact think that I learned something new about myself and could more easily answer the question of “tell me your strengths and weaknesses”, which is often asked at interviews or promotion boards.

Louis, I thought you did a very good job on your week two task. Your discussion board post was well researched and written. I’d noticed some spelling mistakes, punctuation, grammar, or APA errors. Sonja is seriously injured in an auto accident. After six months, she is still unable to return to work. She has no income from her job, and the insurance premium payments are financially burdensome.
