1. What is your past leadership experience?
At my high school, I helped to lead the music all the school masses. Also, for the past six summers, I have been a counselor at an all boy, overnight camp. At that camp, I would be put into a cabin and would lead a group of children, ages 4-15, in activities ranging from archery to soccer to beach. This past year, I was the General Assistant, which meant that I was in charge of keeping the schedule, in charge of discipline and also helped in the training of our councilors in training program. While being the General Assistant, I also was in charge of the BB gun range.
2. What do you hope to get out of block council?
I hope to improve my leadership skills and also find a way to make a difference
I have demonstrated excellence In leadership by being in Future Business Leaders of America ever since I was in my freshman year. I became secretary my freshman year, vice president my sophomore year, and will have acquired the privilege of becoming President my senior year. Being in FBLA has helped me not only grow as a member, but as a leader. Throughout my growth inside the club, I have been able to encourage others to join extracurricular activities, developing my interpersonal skills. Community service has also been a major part of my High School career. Whether it’s first preparing and painting the posters for an activity we are having, to being in charge of a fundraising event, my goal has always been to try to impact the community breaking
All this and more will help me reach my goal of one day being able to relate to a wide variety people, being able to work with and guide anyone, and everyone, through relationships developed between a leader and his followers. I wish to be that leader that makes a change in the world to help relieve the pressure that people around the world feel every day, the pressure to work with people that they hate, that they despise, by eliminating that distaste.
Since childhood, I had a chance to develop my leadership and organizational skills through sports and had my school team win many competitions. My school is one of the places where my leadership qualities are valued as I often become a head of many activities, such as staging plays, organizing shows and school trips with my teachers. Being a leader gives me the opportunity to work in a team and consider my peers’ ideas to make our plans creative and enjoyable for everyone. My personal traits help me to gain trust and respect of my peers as they believe me to be a positive, open-minded and reliable person. I believe that my past personal and professional leadership experiences make me a quality candidate for this position because I have 8 years of experience working in an elementary school as a 6,7, and 8th-grade teacher and 2 years of experience working as English Learner (EL) Program Lead in a high school setting. These experiences have afforded me the opportunity to take on many leadership roles. For example, that of instructional leader and coach, science department chair, English Language Learner department chair, English language learner program lead teacher (ELPT), test coordinator, and facilitated scheduling and programming of EL students, MTSS coordinator, and a union delegate.
When I'm not in school I have Since my freshman year I have been doing marching band. As a sophomore I took my position as a upperclassman to help my freshman to the best of my ability. I help the freshman in my section to read drill, marching techniques, and how to play the music. While doing that I also do activities with my Girl Scout troop. I have been in Girl Scouts since the 4th grade and that has been a wonderful learning experience. From learning the ways of sales, to taking educational trips around the state i have grown in skill and character. I have had many accomplishments and times of leadership. Some leadership roles I have participated in are: being Deacons Quorum President, Senior Patrol Leader, Band, Cross Country, “Teacher’s PET” in 5th grade, and Basketball. Some achievements I’ve accomplished are: being #1 on the reading hall of fame in 5th grade, had 4 Band concerts, gone to Scout Camp and helped with eagle projects, been to 7 Cross Country meets, and been on 3 Basketball teams.

I have participated in events such as History Fair, and have been part of the organization of National Honor Society through three years of high school. I was the leader of my History Fair project group when preparing for competition. During the summer, I am a Basketball Camp Coordinate at the YMCA for children who are in Kindergarten to 8th grade. For the camp, I am in charge of how the day goes with certain goals from my boss. (Also, I assist with Lacrosse and sometimes Day Camps)

Fatimah is a 30-year-old woman who owns and manages her own fashion brand label and design company. She started her business 2005. In addition to managing her business, Fatimah is the mother of three adorable kids, ages 5, 7, and 9. In her fashion company, she heads a team of 26 employees ranging from tailors, salesperson, drivers, and secretaries. Fatimah supervises operations, coordinates her staff, and displays good leadership and communication skills. She also interacts regularly with clients and suppliers.
When reflecting on my experience as both a student and a life learner, I never would have considered myself a leader. In fact, I have always been the shy kid who hides in the back of the class and panics whenever it is their turn to respond to a question. College however provided me with an opportunity to develop myself as a leader. I became more active in school activities and actively sought out leadership roles.
