MyCare Text Project Proposal MyCare Text Project Proposal Have you or your family member ever been in the hospital? Did you ever experience the anxiety, fear, and anger while waiting for the doctor or nurse to update you with the status of your loved one? The hospital is the last place where you or your family wants to be, but unfortunately, it either happens on the emergency basis or scheduled procedures. The project that we have chosen will address the communication problems between patient's families and medical personnel. The project will consist of a HIPPA-compliant, messaging system that will be updating family members about the patients undergoing surgical procedures. (Bryson 2004, P.22) In contrast, Eden and Ackerman (1998) take on a utilitarian approach to stakeholder analysis, with the aim of identifying stakeholders who be persuaded and support actively the strategy and intent of the organization that is prioritizing them. The stakeholders in the institution play a major role as they hold varying degrees of power and interest in the institution. In order to be successful with a proposed project, it is important to identify the stakeholders and to understand their attitudes concerning their expectation and acceptance of the project. Routinely, while the procedures are in progress in the operating rooms, updated information is exchanged among health care providers and family members via nurse liaisons. With the installation of new technology, the access to updated information can be accomplished in a faster, timely, and professional manner. Some of the benefits include the need for less staff members that can be economical to the institution and increased patients and relatives' satisfaction. Our interest for this project based on Eden and Ackermann approach, which is the stakeholder management. It is seeking to identify and analyze only those stakeholders who are active in the project.
