My proposal policy “To Increase the border control and security against unauthorized immigrants."
Unauthorized immigrants in the United States of American border control has being a big problem and concern with regards to national security. There are a lot of people from various countries that want to migrate into United States for so many individual reasons known to them. The United States is a country known for countless jobs which other nations don’t have. A great number of immigrants, however, want to move away from their government reason because the government doesn’t treat them right just the way they want to be treated. For that reason, they move to the United States because they want

However, the United States administration has made great efforts to safeguard border security for the purposes of creating a border control system that confirms that only those who are legally allowed to enter the United States will be able to do so.
Therefore, my main challenges in trying to pass the policy will be trying to get the proposal to the house of senate, house of representative and the congress to approve it, finding the building cost issues of the border, payment for staffing issues, who will build it and who will fund it issues, length of time frame to build it issues, weather issues why building the border, the material cost issues, how to get people who will build the border wall issues and height issues.
In terms of who would foresee as the potential blocker of policy, I will say that they are the congress, house of senate and house of representative. However, I will deal with them by trying to get the congress, the house of senate and house of representative on my side in other to see reasons with my proposal right from the onset by telling them the effective material cost, the importance of security, how it will protect the citizens in the long run. I will try to restructure my proposal and after which get more citizens on board to help them save the community more money. I
With the rise of foreign people permanently settling in America, the immigration policy has affected all aspects of society in terms of growth and development of economy, societal issues, and national security. As the immigration policy is a broad topic among senators, it needs to be prioritize for it to be better understood. In doing so will improve the immigration policy and grasp the significance of its impact in America.
The United States of America, being a country founded by immigrants, is known all over the world as the land of great opportunities. People from all walks of life travelled across the globe, taking a chance to find a better life for them and their family. Over the years, the population of immigrants has grown immensely, resulting in the currently controversial issue of illegal immigration. Illegal immigrants are the people who have overstayed the time granted on their US, visa or those who have broken the federal law by crossing the border illegally. Matt O’Brien stated in his article “The government thinks that 10.8 million illegal immigrants lived in the country in January 2009, down from a peak of nearly 12 million in 2007.”(Para, 2)
There are multiple political forces that are playing a part in the border security/illegal immigration controversy. The current administration has publicly made reference that they will not revisit securing the border without a comprehensive immigration reform bill. The conservatives believe that in order to have a discussion regarding immigration reform, securing the border must come first. Depending upon which “side of the isle” that a person takes regarding the securing of the border, they fall in two categories – the conservatives mainly reside on the pros, and the liberal party tends to side on the cons of building a fence.
People who are illegal immigrants, travel distances and cross borders to seek a better life while they are desperately looking for a better opportunities, they are also running away from famine, wars or violence from their homeland. For example, Mexico and most central and South America countries unfortunately have a poor economic, environmental and life is not easy to live there. These countries also still engaged in a war with various reasons. Especially; Mexican drug cartels which kills more than 80,000 people in every year. Therefore, United States being the main country that so many immigrants attract as they try to cross the border illegally. As they looking a place that provides freedom of speech and religion, steady jobs, a safe environment, and benefits for the poor and unemployed. It has become a home for many of them. “In 2012, the population of immigrants in the United States illegally is estimated to 11.43 million, rough 3.7% of the entire US population. 59% of the immigrants in the country illegally are from Mexico”. 25% of all the immigrants in the country are illegally reside in California State. As the crossing the border and the journey is hard, in 2008, 53% out of all the immigrants are males which are younger than 40 years old. Some people believes that this people deserve a chance because most of them come with a good intentions. Specifically, they just want jobs where they can get decently paid so they can support them self and their family back home.
The issue of illegal immigration is one of the hotly debated topics in almost every facet of society, especially among political leaders. This topic has also received huge media attention and reaction in the recent past including an article written by William Finnegan and published by The New Yorker. The article focuses on addressing the issue of borderlines and is based on the move by 17 Congress members, who wrote a letter on 28th April 2010 demanding an instant action from President Obama to enhance border security. While the increase in illegal immigration has declined in the recent past, there is still a great need to enhance border security, particularly in the as violence in the neighborhood of U.S. Mexico has continued to escalate at an alarming rate. Therefore, evaluating the need to improve border security to lessening illegal immigration is vital for enhancing the country's security and understanding its impacts on America's economy and labor force.
The “Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act” was written by a bipartisan group that included some of the most prominent senators from both parties. Responding to one of President Obama’s biggest domestic policy priorities; the bill would have had broad-reaching effects on immigration policy and would have reduced the inefficiencies of our outdated
“In 2014, 5.8 million unauthorized immigrants from Mexico lived in the U.S.,” according to Pew Research Center (Krogstad). Regulating the number of illegal immigrants from entering the United States has become an increasingly significant issue for the federal government’s agenda after, the number of unauthorized immigrants reached a peak in 2007 at 12.2 million, when this group made up 4% of the U.S. population (Krogstad). An abundance of proposed solutions have been offered to limit the steadily increasing number of illegal immigrants from reaching American soil, such as: mandating E-verify, a system that determines whether or a not a person is eligible to work in the United states, strengthening border security, and fortifying interior enforcement measures in the United States (Illegal Immigration and Border Security). Another major plan sources from President Donald Trump, who hopes to build a wall spanning between the United States and Mexico. This idea has ignited numerous opposing arguments that have picked out its irrationalities, and display how Donald Trump’s proposal to erect a wall generates more complications than benefits.
The reforming of America?s immigration policy is something that can no longer be avoided and must be dealt with as soon as possible. Years of neglect by governmental agencies and policies makers have now made this issue one of the biggest in American politics. First of it must be understood that immigration does no only effect curtain areas of the country and curtain aspect of public life but rather all of American life. Both legal and illegal immigration affect major issues such as jobs availability for all citizens, wages, education in public schools system and in general, health care issues, and the homeland security.
Thousands of illegal immigrants smuggle themselves across the United States border each day. The Immigration and Naturalization Service, or the INS, concluded that the United States is currently a place to call home for a population of approximately twelve million illegal immigrants (Hayes 16). An American who has never been to Mexico, for example, may wonder why these people risk their lives to live in the United States. With the jobs, education, welfare, and unemployment compensation the American government has to offer, the United States appears as a lifeboat for these poor and uneducated immigrants (Hayes 16). The American dream is what all citizens of the United States strive to achieve. Everyone wants to get an education, a
The major factor for such high numbers of immigrants residing in the United States is due to the popular cause that they flee their home-countries in search for safety and opportunities. I argue that the United States society not be blinded by their prejudices and have compassion for these individuals only searching for a safer life. Others may argue that immigrants are only coming to the united States to take their jobs, but it is widely known that America is a place of opportunities, and that is exactly what the immigrants, who have fled the unsafety of their country, are searching. Illegal aliens, however, are not completely hopeless, there are some policies that defend their
There exists a problem in America today that cannot fail to enter the houses of every citizen, influence the thoughts of every individual, and stir the wild imaginations of every free thinker: the problem of illegal aliens traversing the sacred borders of our beloved country. Certain individuals have recently proposed ideas regarding this that have entranced the American people, advocating building a wall separating the United States from its long-time neighbor and trade-partner Mexico. However, after much consideration and calculation I have found his idea grossly mistaken in its computation. A simple wall will be insufficient and far too conservative to solve this crisis of borders. Therefore, in response to America's growing interest in
I don’t know who would be my opponent, but I wish to find a common ground with them where they and I easily express our thoughts and understand some alternative or modification for the Bracero program where we both can agree. As a result, we may be able to help this nation cut the budget of border control and use that money for something else, likewise, it will
Illegal immigration has almost always been a part of the United States. There seems to be a neverending amount of people who believe in the “land of opportunity”, the home of the free and the brave. However, it seems that some may be more opportune than others. Illegal immigrants come to America with hopes and dreams of living a better lifestyle than the one that they currently possess. Currently, the American citizenship process is antiquated and not suited to fit a modern United States of America. Consequently, due to several constraints within the system, many are unable to achieve their dreams legally, and are treated like common crooks. Although many believe that illegal immigrants are criminals who should be deported, undocumented immigrants are victims of a broken system and are crucial to the sustainability of the modern-day American economy.
This research will address U.S. immigration, specifically border security. I will evaluate liberal and conservative views on this issue and then present my own ideas.
The United States of America has always been a refuge where poor and oppressed people from the far corners of the world can come to begin a new life. Much of the nation’s allure to prospective immigrants is in its promise of equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, or color. But the pressures of rising unemployment rates, congested cities, a crippled healthcare system, and national debt skyrocketing out of control have caused America to defend her borders against the influx of immigrants that threaten her already ailing economy. Still, despite all the heightened security measures incorporated in recent decades, a steady stream of immigrants continue to enter the country illegally. The Washington Times reports that there are
